WATCH: Danny Ford receives letter that helped land him Clemson job

by - Assoc. Editor -

Former Clemson head coach Danny Ford finally received a framed 40-year old letter that his players wrote on his behalf and signed it to help him land his head coaching job in 1978.

Ford was given the priceless letter during a recent tailgate at Clemson.

"I know it's real. I know it made a lot of difference," Ford said during the interview. "It certainly didn't hurt me from getting the (Clemson) job and probably made me get the job."

Ford hasn't fully read the letter yet as he is waiting to read it after Clemson's season is completed so he can take his time at his home and appreciate it at his leisure.
