2009: Had an 0-0 record and 1.69 ERA in four appearances (three starts)...in 10.2 innings pitched, he allowed nine hits (.225 opponents' batting average) and five walks with eight strikeouts...Clemson had a 3-0 record in his three starts...allowed just one extra-base hit (triple)...had a .143 opponents' batting average with runners on base and .083 opponents' batting average with runners in scoring position...did not pitch after March 11 and received a medical red-shirt...pitched 1.1 scoreless innings in relief in his first career outing as a Tiger against Charlotte on Feb. 21...#4 newcomer in the ACC in the preseason by Baseball America...#37 freshman in the nation in the preseason by Baseball America...played for Youse in the Cal Ripken Collegiate Baseball League in the summer, where he had a 2-2 record and 1.53 ERA in 29.1 innings pitched over five starts; pitched two complete games and allowed just 17 hits (.162 opponents' batting average), no homers, and five walks with 38 strikeouts; named to the league's All-Star team; named the league's #1 prospect by Baseball America and PG Crosschecker.
