2008: All-ACC Academic team member...had a 2-2 record and 4.34 ERA in 27 appearances (two starts)...in 45.2 innings pitched, he allowed 60 hits and six walks with 26 strikeouts...tied for second on the team in appearances...his 1.18 walks per nine innings pitched mark was second-best in school history and his 4.33 strikeout-to-walk ratio was eighth-best in school history...did not allow a stolen base in two attempts...allowed just three walks with 14 strikeouts in 22.1 innings pitched in ACC regular-season games...had a 3.57 ERA, and he allowed just five walks and two homers in 40.1 innings pitched in his 25 relief appearances...had a 2.81 ERA and allowed just one walk in 16.0 innings pitched on opponents' home fields...held opponents to a .246 batting average with runners in scoring position and .200 batting average with runners in scoring position and two outs...pitched 2.0 innings in relief, allowing two hits and no runs with three strikeouts in the first game of a doubleheader against Mercer on Feb. 23...pitched 2.2 innings in relief, allowing two hits, no earned runs, and no walks with four strikeouts against Wofford on Mar. 5...picked up his first career win in relief against #21 Coastal Carolina on Mar. 18...pitched 2.0 innings in relief, allowing no hits, no runs, and no walks against N.C. State on Mar. 21...pitched 2.0 perfect innings in relief with two strikeouts against Elon on Mar. 26...pitched a perfect inning in relief at #2 Miami (FL) on Apr. 4...pitched 3.2 innings in relief, allowing three hits, one run, and no walks with three strikeouts at #2 Miami (FL) on Apr. 6...pitched 2.0 innings in relief, allowing one hit, no runs, and no walks at Central Florida on May 15...pitched 1.1 innings in relief, allowing one hit, no runs, and no walks with a strikeout to earn the win at Central Florida on May 17; in two relief appearances against the Knights, he allowed just two hits, no runs, and no walks in 3.1 innings pitched...pitched 5.0 innings in relief, allowing two runs and no walks with two strikeouts against #20 N.C. State in the ACC Tournament on May 22...played for Thomasville in the Coastal Plain League in the summer, where he was 7-1 with a 1.06 ERA in 59.1 innings pitched over eight starts; he had a .172 opponents' batting average and allowed just 35 hits, nine walks, and seven extra-base hits, including two homers, with 57 strikeouts; he had two complete games, including one shutout...tied for second in the league in wins and was third in both ERA and opponents' batting average...three-time league pitcher-of-the-week, as he earned tri-pitcher-of-the-week honors on June 23, co-pitcher-of-the-week honors on June 30, and co-pitcher-of-the-week honors on July 16...starting pitcher in the All-Star game, where he retired all three batters that he faced...pitched a complete game in the league championship game; he allowed 10 hits, one run, and no walks with eight strikeouts in his team's 8-1 victory...named Rawlings Coastal Plain League Defensive Player-of-the-Year...#8 Coastal Plain League prospect by Baseball America.

2007: Had an 0-1 record and 4.85 ERA in 13 relief appearances (13.0 innings pitched)...allowed 21 hits (.368 opponents' batting average) and five walks with 13 strikeouts...did not allow a stolen base...had five strikeouts against only one walk in five ACC regular-season appearances...had seven strikeouts and only one walk in five relief appearances in March...had a 2.08 ERA in 4.1 innings pitched in April...did not allow an earned run in 2.2 innings pitched on opponents' home fields...in 2.1 innings pitched against top-25 ranked teams, he allowed just one hit, no runs, and no walks...did not allow an earned run in a combined 5.0 innings pitched in the fifth, sixth, and seventh innings...only allowed one of eight inherited baserunners to score...only allowed an earned run in four of his 13 appearances...had one putout and three assists without committing an error...pitched a scoreless inning in relief with a strikeout against #4 South Carolina on Mar. 3...pitched a scoreless inning in relief against Memphis on Mar. 11...pitched a scoreless inning in relief against Duke on Mar. 18...pitched 1.2 scoreless innings in relief with three strikeouts against Georgia on Apr. 4...pitched 0.2 perfect innings in relief at #2 Florida State on May 11...retired both batters he faced in relief at #10 Coastal Carolina in the Myrtle Beach Regional on June 4...played for Thomasville in the Coastal Plain League in the summer, where he had a 3-2 record and 3.35 ERA in nine appearances (six starts); in 40.1 innings pitched, he allowed 32 hits (.216 opponents' batting average) and 16 walks with 27 strikeouts; the HiToms captured the league title; he was named Rawlings Coastal Plain League Defensive Player-of-the-Petitt Cup Tournament, as he pitched a shutout against #1 Fayetteville to avoid elimination in the HiToms' 16-0 win; he allowed six hits and no walks with nine strikeouts.

BEFORE CLEMSON: All-state selection as a senior at Gaffney Senior High School...#8 prospect in South Carolina by Baseball America...was 17-6 with five saves and 204 strikeouts against only 23 walks during his last two years of high school...team's most valuable pitcher as a junior...all-region pick as a junior...team Legion MVP in 2005...during his combined high school and Legion seasons in 2005, he was 14-4 with 14 complete games in 152.0 innings pitched, and he had 152 strikeouts and a 1.48 ERA along with hitting .343 at the plate...lettered four times in baseball at Gaffney Senior High, where he was coached by Tom Owens.

PERSONAL: Pronounced suh-RAT...four-time member of the ACC Academic Honor Roll...graduated on May 7, 2010 with a degree in management...born Justin Elliott Sarratt on Dec. 22, 1987 in Spartanburg, SC.
