Parker to return to Clemson, play football this fall |
CLEMSON – Kyle Parker will be back at the helm of the Clemson Tiger football team this fall, according to sources. The midnight deadline, imposed by the Parkers on the Colorado Rockies to have a baseball-only deal in place, came and went Tuesday night and the Parkers have informed the Clemson coaching staff that Kyle will return to play football for the Tigers this fall, as reported by media outlets. The Parkers will continue to negotiate a contract with the Rockies, but with the understanding that Kyle will play football this fall. Clemson Sports Information Director Tim Bourret sent the following email to media at 12:40 a.m. Wednesday: "Coach Swinney called me this evening and said he had talked with Kyle Parker who informed him of his decision late this evening. Kyle wished to make the announcement himself and will make a statement through me some time on Wednesday." Obviously, that email neither confirms nor denies Parker's return, so stay tuned as this situation develops.
