Entered Clemson in the late, tumultuous 60's. I was in the last "Rat" class (1968). As sophomore class president, I was automatically chairman of Rat Court. But in the fall of 1969,hazing and the playing of "Dixie" was outlawed, so I could not exact my revenge upon the next class, and thus, I have been frustrated ever sense. I have lost touch with my Sig Ep brothers, except for Dick Harpootlian (through the news). Two (of six) children have graduated from Clemson (others are at UMass - Amherst, and Temple). College tuition, IPTAY Club, local Clemson Club are my main contacts with the University. Any inside poop is gleaned at Mac's Drive-In whenever I'm on business in that area. Master's work led to a career as an investment broker (A.G.Edwards and Merrill Lynch) and now my own company as a benefits analyst/consultant. Lucked out and married a former Miss Georgia U.S.A. who was from Greenville,S.C. Between raising 6 children, and 3 grandchildren (so far), only traveling we do is to a home on top of Roan Mountain, TN, or to the home at Litchfield Beach, S.C. Haven't been to a home football game in years because of time constraints. During my first 2 years (of life) my Dad was an civil engineer major at Clemson, living in the pre-fabs once located just above Doug Kingsmore stadium, and mother was a teacher who taught Jimmy Howard (son of Coach Howard). I always asked about Jimmy when I saw Coach Howard on occasions, and he always remembered my mother. I remember Dan's, Mac's, and 123 Truck Stop has about the only places to eat back then, on Friday's lining up downtown to thumb home to Spartanburg wearing my rat hat (a sure way to get a ride), panty raids followed by the envitable rat riots when Security Police got too pushy.
