Louisville fans upset about referee at Clemson-UL |
The epic battle between Clemson and Louisville ended with the Tigers' victorious 42-36 in Death Valley during week seven action.
However, the game has not ended in the minds of some of the Louisville faithful with 'field marker issues', Bobby Petrino adding that he wasn't sure that his receiver knew where to go on the deciding 4th down play, and their Governor Matt Bevin tweeting that Clemson was getting all the calls during the game. "Hard to beat a team that had 18 players on the field in the first half...Great game...No, quit either side," Bevin tweeted. Now this week, Louisville fans on different message boards have been sharing a Facebook link with the lead referee Gary Patterson and the fact that his daughter previously graduated from Clemson. CardinalsSports.com asked the ACC if it was a conflict of interest that the 25-year veteran referee worked the Clemson-Louisville game. "There is no relationship," the ACC emailed back to the website. "The ACC has had a long-standing policy that having a child that previously attended a school, does not disqualify an official from working a game with that school." Here is the link that was shared around on Facebook on Monday.
