Auburn DB predicts 5-0 start including Clemson win |
Auburn sophomore cornerback Carlton Davis told reporters on Wednesday that he believes that his Tigers will start the season 5-0 including a home win against a strong Clemson team.
"We’re not going to be talked about at the beginning of the season, but I feel like once we go on a 5-0 run people will start to recognize what’s working for Auburn," David said. "It’s the defense. We’re getting better every day. Coach (Kevin) Steele, Coach (Wesley) McGriff and all our new coaches are just working us. I feel it. It’s like a gut feeling. I just feel it." The five-game home stretch that he projects Auburn will win are against Clemson (Sept. 3), Arkansas State (Sept. 10), Texas A&M (Sept. 17), LSU (Sept. 24) and Louisiana-Monroe (Oct.1). Anything is theoretically possible, but this is an Auburn team that finished last season with a mediocre record of 7-6 (2-6 SEC West).
