Will Muschamp takes a jab at Clemson |
South Carolina head coach Will Muschamp was the featured guest at the Gaston County Sports Hall of Fame on Monday night and took the time to talk about various topics including his time at LSU as a linebacker coach and defensive coordinator (2001-2004).
"We were at the REAL Death Valley, not the one somewhere else," Muschamp said to the audience. Muschamp sounds almost embarrassing trying to troll Clemson as he has never won against the Tigers including a 56-7 whipping in Death Valley in 2016. A commonly used idiom "all bark and no bite" can be used be explain individuals that talk a lot of trash without accomplishing much. It usually turns out poorly in the end for them. If I were Muschamp, I would lay low and hope that the ultra-talented Tigers would have a turnover prone contest and hope to somehow win a close rivalry game in 2018. However, giving them bulletin board material already is probably not wise. Former Gamecock coach Steve Spurrier also used to throw his classic one-liners about Death Valley during his time coaching in the rivalry. "Most our players have never been to Death Valley (LSU)," Spurrier said. "That is the Death Valley, isn’t it? Is there another one around?" Clemson will meet South Carolina on Nov. 24.
