Former Gamecocks commit flips to Clemson |
Sophomore Spartanburg Methodist infielder Sheldon Reed has decided to spur the Gamecocks for the opportunity to play at Clemson according to multiple reports.
“I didn’t feel comfortable walking into not knowing who the coach [South Carolina] was,” Reed said via the Index-Journal. “And they still haven’t hired a coach, so I didn’t want to sit and wait for that. Clemson called and they lost two of their starting outfielders and their starting first baseman. Those are the positions I play, and I feel like I have a good chance of going there and playing right away.” Reed grew up a huge fan of the Tigers. “I grew up a Clemson fan, so this is like a dream come true,” Reed said. “This is my dream school. I’m really excited about it.” As a sophomore, he hit .448 with 11 homers, 47 RBI, 42 runs, and four stolen bases.
