I sat on the bench at the elevators in the Clemson Housewith Coach Howard back in 1969, and we just talked about life in general. I was a stupid 19 year old but Coach Howard treated me like I had known him all his life. I remember him saying he'd never give someone money to knock a golf ball around, but that year I believe was the first year someone got financial assistance playing golf for the University. He reminded me a lot of the only grandfather I ever knew, and was just as opinionated at GrandDaddy Smith. RIP, Coach. We all Love you..
