lol..."Looking ahead" at the chicken's season

Oct 14, 2018, 11:03 PM

(from an article by usuck beat wrtier David Cloninger in today's Charleston P&C)

"LOOK AHEAD

The gamecocks enter their bye week knowing they have no chance at a division title and their likelihood of a New Year's Day bowl game--or any bowl game--lessening by the minute."

I'm not chalking up the Chattanooga game as a W just yet.

but if they happen to beat Ole Miss, they better have a 12/1 game ready in case they want to get bowl eligible.

If they’d just learn the “chicken salad theorem” the pain could end.

It is always fun to read about SC's demise

Oct 15, 2018, 7:53 AM

Most years I really enjoy reading about the collapse of Gamecock football fortunes. The annual collapse is almost as reliable as the days getting shorter and the leaves falling, but it always seems to catch the South Carolina unexpectedly.

It will be fun this year if SC continues to fall short of expectations, even ever lowered expectations.
The Gamecocks have Tennessee, Ole Miss away, Florida away, and Clemson away left in the possible loss column. SC has 3 losses already. It's very hard not to see at least 2 and maybe 4 losses in that schedule. They are staring down the barrel of a 7 loss season.

The chickens get a week off before the Vols come to town. We cannot count on the Vols to beat SC, but they might. Wouldn't that be great? We cannot count Ole Miss to beat SC in Oxford, but it really looks possible, doesn't it?

This is turning out to be a great season for those of us who like the annual collapse of Gamecock football.

Go Go Gamecocks!!
Around the bowl
and down the hole
Go Go Gamecocks!!

Three or four more losses is entirely possible...

while two is HIGHLY likely

Tennessee's season was also going the way of the DirtPecker until they pulled-off a shocker down on the plains this past Saturday. UT takes on Bama this weekend before traveling to Columbia. U5C has the week off so they'll have two weeks to prepare for the Vols.

They jury is still out on Ole Miss. They've only faced two solid opponents (Bama and LSU) and got blown out in both games. They struggled with a bad Arky team this past weekend but managed to hold-on for a 37 - 33 win. Ole Miss faces Auburn this week and then they have a bye week before hosting U5C.

referee no-calls. No mention that A&M held the ball for over 2/3's of the game and played just as sloppy as USuCk.
