Strosberg Will Not Return as Clemson Women’s Soccer Head Coach

CLEMSON, SC – Hershey Strosberg will not return as the head coach of the Clemson women’s soccer program for the 2011 season. The announcement was made by Athletic Director Dr. Terry Don Phillips on Wednesday afternoon.

Strosberg, who led the Tigers to a 14-39-1 record over the past three seasons, was instrumental in the program’s facility development.

“We appreciate Coach Strosberg’s work ethic and professionalism over the past few years,” said Phillips. “Hershey has a tremendous amount of energy and passion for women’s soccer, which he brought to work with him everyday. While those qualities did not necessarily translate into competitive success during his brief tenure as head coach, they are evident in the facilities he helped to develop and the quality of student-athlete that he recruited.”

“I would like to thank Dr. Phillips for giving me the opportunity to coach the women's soccer program at Clemson University,” said Strosberg. “I would also like to thank the players and parents for their support of our growth and the direction of the program. I was fortunate to compete in the best conference in women’s soccer and I look forward to pursuing other opportunities that will benefit me and my family.”

A national search for a women’s soccer head coach will begin immediately.
