Is anyone else a little surprised at the lack of big names (not referring to Clemson players) entering the portal so far? All of the recruiting sites and so many podcasts out there made it sound like it was going to be shock and awe. I realize there are still 11 days to go but I could have thought the bigger name individuals would want to negotiate the best NIL deals ASAP. Time will tell.

There are quite a few teams that have not wrapped spring practice.

There are others. When spring ball is in the books the movement will crank up.

Have there been ANY Clemson players rumored to move on? Hasn’t history been announcements a couple days into the portal opening due to paperwork?

From the rumors going around I was expecting to see guys who are big name starters on top 20 teams entering the portal.

So far, we haven't.

Just because like you I heard quite a bit leading up to it that there would be a lot of movement.

Very happy to see that it’s not the case. Spring ball hasn’t wrapped up yet for a lot of programs so there might still be some movement soon.

Tomorrow is 2 weeks since the Tiger Spring game and I would think, most if not all players have had their one-on-one meetings. The other teams will be going through the same process. The ones transferring now are not the big names. They are the ones that are lower on the depth chart and are looking for more PT. The big names come when the $s are right.

It seems like the vast majority that do enter weren't going to start or were flawed in some way. Maybe academic issues or possibly character issues. Might have been homesick. Might have graduated. Might have disliked the coach. I don't think most are crushing it with NIL money.

It’s the negotiation period. Teams are weighing demands of different players at positions of need and trying to get the best bang for their buck. Also comparing them to the potential of high school players already signed or known to still be entertaining offers.

Sometimes it depends on when a player gets latest NIL check. If he gets it at the end of the month (as it varies) a player will wait until he gets that check to go into the portal.
