Yeah, I remember seeing that topic the other day. I don't see how you can effectively take that parameter out, and still have a meaningful discussion. If it was 20-30% more per year, maybe you can construct a logical argument where your superior money management skills would offset that difference. But if the delta is 2-3 times your annual check...you just can't overcome that.

better to take away the coots only recruiting "advantage" where they say you'll get to be in the same conference as Bama and Georgia.


Oh, I thought you were saying would you go B1G for the money. Sorry. I would want out of the ACC even if the money were the same. The ACC sucks ballz if you aren't named UNC or Duke.

The construct of the question was whether or not we can compete as successfully in the SEC as we did in the ACC without changing the way we currently recruit. I excluded the money topic so people wouldn’t get so focused on that but of course, they did anyway.

I can build on a nice entertainment room to my house so I can invite more people over. I can enhance my invitations to include media and other slick marketing components. But, if my neighbors can all afford to move to a private island and do their entertaining there, I can't compete. My nice entertainment room will eventually be busy and my neighborhood will not be where the hip youngsters want to live and play.

You’re still missing the point. The money advantage is an obvious reason to change and we don’t need to debate it which is why I excluded it. The discussion I hoped to have was whether or not people think we can be as successful in the SEC as we were in the ACC, given some of the obvious differences we will face if we do wind up there.

Said another way, assume we join the SEC and we are getting the same $ as everyone else, and then consider the rest of the question.
