Recent Clemson graduate and midfield star Hal Hershfelt will be on the US women June squad as she has been playing well for the Washington Spirit in the NWSL.

Sam Staab also called up.

Chicago, Ill. – Former Clemson Tigers turned NWSL standouts Hal Hershfelt and Sam Staab have been named to the US Women’s National Team Camp roster, it was announced today by new head coach Emma Hayes. They will participate in the final games before the selection of the 2024 US Olympic Women’s Soccer Team.

Hayes has called up 23 players for matches against Korea Republic, taking place in Commerce City, Colorado on June 1 at ####’s Sporting Goods Park (3 p.m. MT / 5 p.m. ET on TNT, Universo, truTV, Max and Peacock) before moving on to St. Paul, Minnesota for a June 4 match at Allianz Field, which will be presented by Allstate (7 p.m. CT / 8 p.m. ET on truTV, Universo, Max and Peacock).

The roster features a mix of veterans, up-and-coming players and three who have yet to be capped. This is the final roster before the naming of the 2024 Olympic Women’s Soccer Team which will play in the USA’s final two matches before leaving for France, on July 13 vs. Mexico at Red Bull Arena in Harrison, N.J. (3:30 p.m. ET on TNT, Telemundo, truTV, Universo, Max and Peacock) and against Costa Rica on July 16 at Audi Field in Washington, D.C. (7:30 p.m. ET on TNT, Universo, truTV, Max and Peacock).

Solid seasons thus far with the Washington Spirit and Chicago Red Stars, respectively, earned Hershfelt and Staab their first-ever senior National Team call-ups. The 27-year-old defender Staab just earned her NWSL record 100th consecutive regular season start, while 21-year-old Hershfelt has scored two goals thus far for Washington.

Staab has U.S. Youth National Team experience with the U-19s and earned three caps with the U.S. U-23s in 2018, scoring against Norway in a 1-0 win in Sarpsborg, Norway. Hershfelt, the fifth pick in the 2024 NWSL Draft, earns her first National Team call-up at any age level.
