Sweet 16 (followed at a distance by NC State). Equate that to a national ranking of #15. If Clemson had achieved that ranking at some point during the season, would the BB fanbase be (at that point) equally fired up to give Brownell an extension? And if they were ranked 15th and then crashed and burned in the NCAAT, would the ranking in itself have been a sign of a successful season?

No. The crash and burn over the final regular season games coupled with the crash and burn in the ACC Tournament, and then add a crash and burn in the NCAA Tournament would have negated any perception of a successful season.

We were ranked 13 at one point on the season just sayin, not sayin Brad needs to be fired or anything just stating we were ranked top 15 this year in AP poll until the bad acc start but I more than happy with the sweet 16 appearance Go Tigers!!
