Exactly....Got Robbed out of that one. Heck we can't hardly score TD's right now....We sure don't need them taken away from us either.

that would be borderline fascist. I think the the NCAA needs to strap small cameras to the officials, think it was mentioned on the broadcast last night. There would be a lot more accountability if they knew the guys in the booth and the people watching could see exactly what they see.

But according to the idiot ESPN U announcers the Ref had a PERFECT VIEW, the call must be accurate. No way he could be wrong.

of bounds at about the 3 yard line against Georgia last year. The difference was there was a good enough camera angle on the review that kept him from screwing us over against the Dawgs. Not so lucky tonight. Oh well. I'm pretty sure there aren't any qualifications WHATSOEVER to be a referee in the ACC. I'm gonna put my application in tomorrow.

Well, that's at least two TD's I know of, plus a catch that wasn't, that even the announcers thought they would reverse the call, it was so obvious.
Give the REF's GO PRO camera's tied into the system, then we can see what they see... pa rumpa bump bummmm. GO TIGERS!!!

all angles. Officials couldn't overturn it from the video they had. We see a still shot. That would be a tough call to make in real time with it partially being blocked by the D player. Better video from this angle would have solved that problem. That being said if there was doubt, the official closest to the play should have called a TD. Obviously he didn't see what actually happened

I think the ref assumed he went out because his view was blocked by the Syracuse player diving. Just my opinion.

Exactly what I was thinking. And in fact the photo somewhat

justifies that thought.
Hence, if the ref didn't clearly see it, then he shouldn't have called it.

After looking again he could have also mistaken out of bounds line for the yard line painted there as well. When in doubt let it play out is what I say.

Perfect timing by the photographer
Oct 26, 2014, 7:41 AM

As many as are in DV I'm not surprised.
Ref was in the right position looking at line, but his eyes may have been cutting to the defender flying at him.
Same ref gave us a generous mark for a first down.
+1

a still frame does not show the entire thing, I thought he was out too. Good photo, but who is to say he was fully planted and his foot did not slide half an inch? Just playing devil's advocate here.
The only problem is there was not enough camera coverage to overturn it. see post above about mounting cameras to the officials.

You are right that a still photo doesn't show before or after

My guess is that the ref sees an orange and white shoe approaching the line and then sees the orange and white Syracuse gloved hand shoot across the line...While also having the actual foot location blocked by the defenders helmet sliding into view. Bad call but I understand the mistake.

A photo this pinpoint in timing im sure was followed by enough rapid shot photos to equal the fps on any of our tv sets. Where they at tho! Lol. But cameras worn by refs like rugby in europe nd hockey would be awesome.

to overturn it.
The guy was in the exact position to make the call, though.
But realistically, you're talking about mm of distance in the blink of an eye. I'll cut a little slack for that, and not ream the ref to death. Humans be humans.

Out of bounds in the UGA game last year! Blew the same call last year with having the best view in the house. He should be banned from our games!
