panicked and tried to make that pitch…which Pheel wasn’t expecting. Instead of doing that, busted play scramble drill means QB goes forward as far as he can or throws OB.

understand we commoners always go on raw data. We compare fumble count between Ship and Mafah and ignore the stats.

The real stats are calculated by fumbles/total carries. I might be wrong that the number of carries vs fumbles is significant. You're welcome to check the data.

Mafah’s YPC have been better, his PFF grades have been much better (calculates yards after contact, YPC, blocking, receiving,etc), and to the naked eye he was better.

I think Ship has been getting graded on some intangibles that we don’t know about or don’t care about. Some might be justifiable, some might not, I dunno, but Phil’s the better product on the field.

Mafah busted my theory that opponents' defenses was tired when he got on the field. It was a considerable consideration but such is stabbing in the dark at every sound.
