history - per Tigernet, a .247 win percentage, 23-70, in the league tourney. Not acceptable. Sorry.
Do we get complacent with that and say, "Well, that's just Clemson basketball," or does the AD look at this and say, "This is not Clemson athletics. This needs to change."
I have nothing against Brownell personally. Seems like a good, quality guy. I've no doubt he's doing his best. But clearly his best isn't getting the program where it needs to be. Closer? Maybe. But not there. Not close enough.
The consistency in his tenure has been under-performing. The exceptions/aberrations have been the good runs, and we've had a couple. Literally, like two. Three, tops. (not the Four Tops - great old band)
Clemson basketball deserves better. These players deserve better. The fans deserve better and heck, even the cheerleaders and pep band who put a lot of work into these seasons deserve better.
Not moving on from Brownell tells everyone that Clemson is content with basketball mediocrity. And nothing about Clemson University should have anything to do with mediocrity. Yet, here we are....
We're moving on with WBB. Time to move on with MBB.
