Don't believe it did this season. His criticism was that the team always lets us down with a surprise loss we were expecting to win. We didn't have an NCS game this year like FSU had. We won all the games we were suppose to win. We lost two games that most were not surprised we lost.

Letdown, sure. But they were the #12 team in the nation with their only losses to LSU and Florida. A loss to SC this year is a far cry from our losses to NCS and Maryland over the years. Those are the losses Kirk was talking about.

Last year we lot to NCS when they were 5-5. Year before we lost to BC when they were 2-5 Year before we lost to SC when they were 6-5
Those are the kind of let down losses I think Kirk has in mind. Not a lost to a 9-2 nationally ranked team.
By the way, we can go way back and see those kind of losses. We even had them under Ford.

Line was -4, against their second string, at home.

The ~3pt home advantage.
It was a toss up.
Clemson didn't lose a game it was supposed to win this year and didn't win a game it was supposed to lose.

They probably believe 10-2 in the ACC is better than 10-2 in the SEC.

Tennessee, Missouri, Kentucky, Vanderbilt, Auburn, Ole Miss and MissSt. Throw in a few cupcakes that fill out the usual SEC schedule, and the Tigers would STILL have won 10 games

The SEC is top heavy. SEC fans need to understand that "top to bottom" refers to the top 4 teams. Like any other conference there's a huge drop-off between the top teams and the rest. Anyway, it'll play out in the bowl season.
