Man he’s the best receiver we have had. Was an absolute cheat code. We need another of him to keep the success up

I'd have told you to take a drug test. Sammy was the fastest straight line runner with a football I've ever see. Bring back the dreads!!!

Sammy just hasn't been able to stay healthy and develop chemistry with any of his QBs. I would love to see what he his numbers might look like if he had 2-3 healthy seasons in a row with the same team.

He dominated a triple team of nfl DB's all game. Sammy could run around them but couldn't handle the traffic as well. Definitely couldn't handle the beating and banging that Dhop did.

have finished as the ACCs all-time receptions leader. He went 52 72 82 his three years for 206. 283 leads the conference. Not as spectacular as Sammy at Clemson, but he sure hauled them in. Sammy was 82 with Nuk's 72, then 57 with Nuk's 82. After Nuk left Sammy hit for 101 his last year, finishing with 240. He would have EASILY been tops in ACC career receptions with another year. FUNNY thing is Nuk had a career average of 14.7 yards per catch, but Sammy was "only" 14.1 yards per catch. They were a heck of a pair!

Did anyone notice Charlie Waters in fourth? Charlie

was an unbelievable athlete. Came to Clemson as a quarterback (I think). Obviously played a lot of receiver and, I’m pretty sure he played running back on occasion. This was back in my day and all schools had freshman and varsity teams. Charlie played on our freshman basketball team and could have played baseball but that interfered wit spring football practice.
I once asked the legendary Banks McFadden who was the best athlete he ever coached. Without any hesitation he said, “Charlie Waters. He never played a down on defense at Clemson but Dallas was smart enough to draft him in the later rounds. He was eventually an All Pro and Pro Bowl defensive back selection x number of times.”

I met Charlie back when he played for Clemson and Dallas, and he was my favorite player back then. Played QB and wide receiver for Clemson Played Safety for the Cowboys, along with Cliff Harris. He got killed in the playoffs one year returning punts against the Redskins.
He was still living in Dallas, and we missed seeing him at the Cotton Bowl, but he was supposed to be around.
Those were the days! The Cowboys went to 5 Super Bowls when he played on the Doomsday defense.

only player he has ever had that “once you opened the box, no assembling was required. He was ready.” And, while this is true, Nuke has always had (excuse my language) a “hard on” concerning the press Sammy got. I’m told that is why, when he is introduced on national tv he says, “Nuke Hopkins, Daniel High School.”
I think many agree that the pivot of turning our program around was the 4hth and 19 catch Nuke made against LSU.

staying healthy, is his great ability to win the "hand fighting" off the line of scrimmage that goes on in the NFL. He can seemingly work his way open, no matter what, if he has any kind of decent QB chunking the rock his way.

He was awesome and we could sure use someone who could scare a defense because right now we have receivers with bad hands but their lack of speed makes it worse. Sorry, but watch the film.

Sammy would simply attack the ball. Defenders were just in the way. The Orange Bowl against Ohio State was amazing to watch.
I want to see Clemson receivers attack the ball again, and fight to get open the way Sammy, Nuk. Mike Williams and others did.
Who will step up next at #WRU?

“And the rabbit is loose!” One of my all time favorite Clemson moments. Awesome game vs Maryland
