Take a step back on Amick

Ok, Billy had one of the best upcomings I’ve seen in a while, other than Max Wagner the previous year.

Came out of nowhere. Didn’t impress in the fall. Didn’t start until beginning of April or late March. Hit the lights out of the ball.

Second thing, Billy was a good hitter, but needed a lot of polishing as a defender. There’s some things that aren’t complete about him, and a lot of you overlook them because he got very hot. Not saying he’s bad by any stretch, but players get hot like that. Especially when the whole team is. Spent most of the year at DH.

Hope the best as always, and hope to God Cam doesn’t go anywhere, I saw some TNET posts about him transferring. He will end up at a top program I am guessing, but I think the way Bakich coaches hitting is the main reason for our success in that department this year. There will be plenty of Billy Amicks that come through under Erik.

What stings about Amick was that he is from Clemson Family. The fact that he’s basically quitting Clemson and going elsewhere is a slap in the face for Tiger fans.

Very very few people have loyalty in today’s society.

It is definitely a slap in the face, but I do appreciate all that his family has done for Clemson over the years.

I don't agree with his decision to transfer but he is a grown man. Furthermore, the Amick family are the sole reason Clemson has a poultry science department. For years they pretty much funded its entirety. Before you degrade that department, you may want to research how much money the poultry industry generates statewide, nationwide, and international; and that's direct impact revenue. Indirectly I personally know a ton of family farms that would not be in business today without the uniformed revenue chicken production generates. You can 100% thank Amick and Campbell here in SC. I'm not saying put the Amick family on a pedestal because they aren't saints, but in the words of a t-shirt slogan; "Don't talk bad about farmers with your mouth full."

So you’re saying we will lose Grice, Amick and Cam possibly? Man college sports sucks now. At least in the pros you sign a guy for 3-4 years.

Yep. No loyalty at all on any level. Discouraging.

College sports is hanging on by a thread

The players that benefit from it are killing it. The fans, which are the reason thesebpkayers have these opportunities, will lose interest. It is happening big time already.

"I love this place, I've got a spot already picked out where I want 'em to put me when I die - up there on that ole hill near the stadium. I want to be there so I can hear all them people cheering my Tigers on Saturdays; then I won't have to go Heaven; I'll already be there."- Frank Howard

Yeah by saying “take a step back”, I meant stop worrying about Amick. And then I went on to explain why.

So yes, screw it and it doesn’t matter.
