PJ and Schief are big favorites of mine. I am mystified at yesterday's play by the whole team. It was almost like they expected to play today and were surprised they had to play last night. The way they played they shouldn't have event gotten the one day bye.

74, I'm shocked too. I predicted in November that this was our year to win the acc, either regular season or the tournament. I still think we have the players to have accomplished that. Jack Clark can play. Have arguably the best 3pt shooter in jg3.
Add a seasoned vet in chase, hall, and my man sChief. Not to mention Godfrey and Wiggins coming off the bench. That said, you have off nights and lose. But what irks me is the loss to ga tech at home. Early season loss to VA tech. Not beating a uva team at home. Then going to ND, wake, and the bc loss making it 3 out of 4 games are Ls. That's not an off night. That should be inexcusable to the AD because that pattern points to poor coaching.

If you watched this team all year, you shouldn’t be shocked by last night’s performance.
Let’s break it down. We rarely get scoring from the bench, so they were not going to help last night.
Chef and Clark are good defensive players but not real threats or go to guys on offense.
Leaves PJ/Chase/JG
PJ has great post moves and can go strong with either hand. Unfortunately, he would rather hang out on the perimeter and hoist threes. Also, he’s prone to early foul trouble with tired and lazy fouls.
Chase can create his own shot, but he’s not an accurate shooter. JG can’t create his own shot, but is a decent shooter. Teams know to pressure him when he has the ball and we just don’t set strong enough picks for him. Both are liabilities on defense.
This is the team we have. In all of the losses, our shortcomings were magnified. The loss to BC really shouldn’t be a surprise to anyone.

some bad losses but rather a really average team with some good wins. Just like we want consistency from our men and women’s golf teams (and other teams) a little consistency from this team would have gone a long way. Regardless of our record, I basically see this as a .500 basketball team ……… based on the last 2/3 of the season.

I like our roster too. It seems to me that when Chase plays well...we are really, really good.
When he doesn't...we are very average and prone to lose.
Unfortunately, he has had stretches when he was good and stretches where he can't hit a shot. His defense has also lacked consistency.
I wish he could have gelled a little better with Joe G...but they just don't quite have the backcourt chemistry together. Joe G has been good for us. I really don't want to know our 3 point shooting percentage without his numbers in there.
Beadle probably needs more playing time at Chase's expense...but if it hasn't happened by now, it's not going to happen. We'll have to see more of Dillon Hunter...he seems to be more of a distributor rather than a scorer.
I feel like the PJ/Scheff/Godfrey tandem is about as good as it gets. Could have used another big guy to spell some minutes for them...which I guess is what Leyte was before the injury.
Clark's defense has been good (we definitely are better with him)...but Wiggins really has not played well since Clark came back. Not getting any offense from these guys. I think Wiggins has talent but we are not utilizing it. Too many games where these guys are just kind of out there.
All this adds up to a team that was pretty close to doing something really good this year as a whole...they certainly had their high moments....but it seems that they couldn't quite get there as a unit. I'm hopeful that they can play better next week than they did last night. But I would not put $ on anything with this team, that's for sure.
