maybe in the sense that since spiller we have not had a program changer at the position. But nothing I see from the kid's film suggest they are any way similar.

Didn't win a Natty with Spiller and didn't win one with someone like Spiller. We did win 2 Natty's with great QBs, good rushing (oline really impt) and great D. This means great balance on O, D and special teams. Breakaway backs are great, but not enough. Look at FSU, LSU, and Stanford to name 3 in the last 3 years.

Good point. As long as we have Gallman-esque production from one of our backs we should be fine in the run game. Don't necessarily need a 'game changer' back there. Does anyone believe Fuller or Choice can be 'that guy' this year? Seems like Feaster and Etienne get most of the love right now (I'm guilty of this) but Fuller or Choice may be handed the keys to the Ferrari first.

very true - cj was a game changer. like dalvin cook.
however, i would counter that by saying wayne gallman was one of the most important backs in the history of program.

I'd love to get another dynamic backfield tandem a la Davis/Spiller. I realize Etienne/Feaster aren't exact comparisons, just in terms of having a solid 1-2 punch of stud RBs.... I'm glad we have both!

We've had a load of mighty good tail & full backs that carried the Rock but No CJ for sheer "he's lose & watch out, it's 6!"

Watch this kid's film. He does it all. Runs for power and speed. Catches out the backfield. Blocks like a fullback. Very complete back. Actually can't believe we got a kid like him in such a short window of time. He's gonna be a good one.

Y'all don't sleep on Fuller. The guy produces whenever he gets the chance. He doesn't have the speed of Feaster or Etienne, but he is solid, catches the ball well, and runs between the tackles with purpose.

Do you predict Fuller leads us in carries, total yards, TD's, etc then? Just curious

Fuller will lead the team in carries through 5 weeks. Depending on how we fair with three tough opponents, we may reevaluate after that.

I think Etienne has the potential to be a great back. I also believe he will have a bit of a learning curve coming into our offense and learning all the blocking schemes etc

Not sure that I would do any comparisons yet, but I know I would absolutely hate to defend our RB's if I were an opposing DC. This is going to be a nightmare for most DC's.
Anyone remember Ronnie Brown/Cadillac Williams a few years ago at Auburn? They could not be stopped even though everyone knew they would run, run, run. Auburn went undefeated, but were not National Champions. Our team may be a threat to do something similar to what they accomplished.
From wiki: In 2004, Williams decided to return for his senior year at Auburn. This turned out to be a wise decision as he, along with quarterback Jason Campbell, Brown and others, helped lead the Tigers to an SEC Championship and Sugar Bowl winning season, finishing with a perfect 13-0 record and a controversial #2 ranking behind the University of Southern California.
