FSU is one of the most overrated teams Ive seen in a while

"Well who would you put in front of them?" Basically the entire rest of the top 10. At least. Does anyone really think they would beat Oregon? Oklahoma? Washington? Penn State? Texas? I dont.

Who is on FSU's schedule that will beat them before ACC Championship?
Beating LSU and Clemson at home merits the current ranking.... the talent is there and by the end of the season I expect they will be prettier and more polished.

I think they would beat Oklahoma most of the time. Lose to Texas most of the time. Penn State toss up most of the time.

Don’t know enough about the PAC teams - but of course the Huskies QB can sling it and Oregon is rolling. So I give the nod to Oregon most of the time. And Huskies not enough info.

This is the way

Who are we rating and to what standard? I see a lot of talk about FSU in both this article and in the comments. Sure they are good, they are probably one of the best in the ACC right now - but I don't think they are national championship material. Honestly this would be the year for a 12 team playoff if there ever was, but even then I don't think FSU wins it all.

Now Clemson, we are a big F in OUR NORMAL STANDARD. I still think we are top 25 and even top 15-20 as far as a team. We are just inconsistent as all get out, our oline and WRs are nowhere near elite, and I'd even argue both units are below average on a national comparison. That said I think we have an elite defense and an above average running game if the oline would open up the holes for them. If I had to give a ranking I'd settle around 17-18.

Now playoffs... oh I wish they would have the 12 team format this year. There's plenty of teams that deserve that chance, and you could even argue a 16 team playoff. FSU, UNC, Ville, UGA, Bama, Ohio State, Michigan, Penn State, Oklahoma, Texas, USC, Oregon, and Washington would be the "gotta have em" teams for a playoff bid. That's 13 teams there, so who would be out? Probably Louisville, but hey. That's why I said 16. That gives a few other teams a shot like Tennessee, Duke, ND, Clemson, Ole Miss, Texas A&M, Oregon State, Utah and Miami, which I feel would be the teams fighting for those extra 3-4 slots. I feel like as soon as we expand to 12 next year the narrative will be "why not 16", and I don't disagree.

All in all, I think this year you have a much wider field than other years, and I feel like the gap from top 2-3 to top 16 is far closer than usual. There isn't a team that has separated to be in front of anyone else right now.

better win than Alabama over A&M loses on a dumb play to a mediocre GT team and drops effectively out of the rankings at 4-1? While ND got embarrassed in their second loss and remains in front of them?

TV money. Same with Bama, osu, meechigan etc. And they really really wanted Tejas to win. That's why I tend to trust the espn sp , fpi indexes. They tend to rely on metrics.
