tbh
Alabama, Georgi, or Ohio State would not tolerate any of this at all or ever . Tyler Grisham would have been fired so fast . Kyle richardson would have been fired so fast
Bring back Jeff Scott . this passing game has been so bad for so long . since Covid
it's all coach speak about this room. while the product is injuries left and right ... and zero explosive plays and very few TDs
they can't even score with passing TDs when in the red zone .

Ohio State had a WR for Heisman

Alabama is CFP
Georgia and Clemson are about the same at WR - nobody in the NFL knows whos in their current rooms
i just think that the WR room issues date back to the mass transfer exodus following Jeff Scott's departure . they left for a reason . the backfill was not what they wanted or felt was best for their futures

Please do explain which WRs transferred out when JS left because they didn't like the WR classes we were bringing in.

Funny, how you pretend injuries don't exist. It's been like a MASH unit this year, with Antonio, Turner, Randall, Stellato, and Beuax Collins all missing significant time this year or playing hurt all year. This not only affects game day but the time these guys get to practice and get coached up because they're re-habbing instead of practicing. But hey, clearly you know a lot more than the guy who has taken this program to unprecedented new heights and won 2 Natty's, beating most SEC teams and Ohio State in the process.

We had a MASH unit last year. That excuse is getting tired. The best ability is availability.

Given that, you must have graduated in the summer of 2023, borne in 2005, and not understood anything about football than just football equipment until 2015.
In other words, until this past season, you had never witnessed a Clemson team that had the roster talent at WR, yet didn’t show that talent because of injuries + dependence upon players that had missed much of their practice time because of being injured.
In other words, you still know nothing about FB other than our W - L record hasn’t been as good as that of CFB’s very top teams during the previous 3 years, and by golly SOMEONE is going to be blamed because your sense of entitlement hasn’t been fulfilled.
Clemson was supremely fortunate from 2015 through 2020 seasons, inclusively, because the rarity of injuries covered up the thin depth of most position units during that magnificent stretch. In other words, Clemson beat the odds in a HUGE way as far as avoiding a concentration of season ending / season limiting injuries at those depth-thin units. We won big during that stretch.
2021 and 2022 seasons, there was a talent drop off. 2022 had better talent, yet injuries at WR position hurt us. 2023 season, injuries at WR season + key WR who had, for practical purposes, never practiced, impaired our WR group again.
Forgive me in advance for being blunt, but it is asinine to blame T.Grisham because your sense of entitlement for us to be CFP bound each year has not been fulfilled.
Have a Merry Christmas, and here is to Santa putting some maturity into your stocking tonight.

I graduated from Clemson in 1984. Way before you were a thought in your daddy’s head. I was a sophomore during the 1981 championship season. My future wife and I were next door neighbors in the prefabs our freshman year. My daughter graduated in 2017 and was the Tiger Cub mascot for 3 years, including 2 national championship games. I came full circle and worked the last 3 years of my working career at Clemson mentoring students in a student run program before retiring fully this year.
Nice try but I don’t need a lecture from someone who has proven themself to be a punk. If you don’t like what you are seeing at Clemson, move along.

Wow, I thought it would take at least 2 posts before someone jumped on our WR room and of course Grisham, but I'm sure you know better than both he and Dabo. By the way, just how much playing or coaching experience do you have? How many years did years did YOU play in the League, how many National Championship teams have you coached? That pretty much covers you and your negativity.....

Glad we signed these guys, but we'll see. The drop off in team speed from our natty years has been dramatic. Not sure how three freshman fix that with a coach that strongly prefers playing upper classmen.

Swinney has shown he will play the best player. Nuk Hopkins and Sammy Watkins dominated from their freshman year on. If Wesco and Moore are as good as advertised, they will play.

Great! The real question is are we going to turn the ball over next year. Our turnovers should have been sponsored by Pepperidge Farms this year. Munson: It's another Pepperidge Farms Fumble.

Pretty good comment! I have lost faith in the WR room tbh. Yes, Cole Turner can fly but he’s a boy among men out there. He’s short and thin. Get your weight up, kid comes to mind. We have no fight at WR. It’s no working to get open. You have to smash the DB off the line and create separation. These guys hold hands and skip around. We need another angry DHop style receiver that fights for every inch of separation

Half of the comments don't make sense to me. I say."What does he mean?" "Has he ever played football before?" "Has he ever supervised other men?" "Does he have any confidence in a coach that led us to 2 National Championships?" Probably all "nos" to these questions. The Pepperidge Farm turnover comment was great!

It is ironic that at "WRU" the lack of a star receiver has been such a drag on our offense. We really need that spot to become a strength for us, and we need it by the first game next year when we play the 'Dawgs. A win there could propel us to a great season.

We haven't had a guy be able to do this since this guy left. Just a bunch of missed evaluations at the position. We're fortunate that we had lesser players higher on our boards that didn't chose us and T. Brown and Antonio fell in our lap. https://twitter.com/SNFonNBC/status/1738700788585639987

But you can’t “separate”!!!!!! Yada yada yada ….heard it all before but I won’t be drinking any of that “kool-aid” this off-season. Prove it on the field, if not, it’s just more “Coach speak”. We’ve had wayyy to much of that the past few Seasons.

The last 2 years the best receiver has been a freshman so why not believe the trend will continue. If so we will have Antonio, Brown, Wesco & Moore. That's 4 big time playmakers so if that's the case we will be just fine. Then add in a few big plays by Turner and Randall and bam we blowout some really good teams. I just hope the first game these boys are ready for a big game bc we need it!! Go Tigers!!

In college football all you need is one dude that can run a crisp route and take the top off the defense. That guy will be on the field next year.

FSU’s Keon Coleman, BC’s Zay Flowers (2022 season), Pitt’s Jordan Addison (2021 season), and UNC’s Josh Downs (2022 season) agree with you.
These single players for each team totally transformed their team’s WR unit.

To say it’s been frustrating to watch our WRs struggle to get a 10 yard catch the past 3 seasons, while other teams can get a 30-40 yarder a game with is ease is an understatement. Wesco should be penciled in as a starter the day he gets here based on talent alone. I don’t know why Dabo has to constantly bring up Cole Turner ether, he has played in what 5 or 6 games and has had 1 big catch basically, but is always the first or second WR he mentions whenever he is asked about the position. Seeing a couple of WRs get close to the 100yard mark in the bowl game would be a good start to build on for the spring.

I still believe that DJ could have been a great qb at Clemson. I believe that he would have been a great player if given the weapons that Watson/Trevor had. It's funny that the 1 game that he was great in is the one that had WR talent.

If we get either one or both of Wesco/Moore going next year, that will take the top off defenses. I actually agree with Dabo...things are looking up.

These are kind of things Dabo should stop doing. He was do mad that our expectations were to high. He brings much of this on because he is so optimistic. He often says things in an attempt to pump players or just plug the program. Last fall - Beaux is our go to guy. Leading the room. Another example was the inaccurate assessment of O line. There are probably 150 people who know 1/2 of what our coaches know about our game. The rest of us who love Tigers do listen to him. Temper it all Dabo.

I'm just hoping Matt Luke can get the O-line to half way block long enough for the WR'S to actually get more than 5 yards down the field before Cade is running for his life. I sure do miss the bombs

I respect Dabo’s constant positivity and I also like that he doesn’t throw his players under the bus. But because of those things, it’s difficult to take him seriously when it comes to making statements like this, because he’ll give the same answer regardless of wether our receiving core is sensational or horrendous (as evidenced by the past 3 seasons). So I hope he’s right, but we’ll have to wait and see.

I agree but will add that a lot of times this season when our receivers did create separation and got open they failed to catch the ball. When you throw that in the mix you see why we were not explosive.
How many balls were just that close or on target and dropped. Speed is necessary but hands are crucial. Hunter Renfrow wasn’t fast but would catch anything in a 5 yard radius weather he was open or not.
Same with Tee. That’s the combination we have not duplicated

When we go beyond the narratives, speed matters ...

This 2023 team lacked speed, route running ability, good hands, blocking and confidence on Offense. The players lacked confidence and the coaches lacked confidence for good reason - a shortage of speed and talent. 2024 is a new year. Go Tigers!
