When i see the travis kelce pfizer thing now celebrities like taylor swift mixing with probably for a pre determined amount of time a famous team/person of the moment to sell whatever magazines or product placement or just promote themselves a little more, it makes me sick. The mannings the biggest shills on tv right now also.
throw into all of that the NIL in college , pay for play, agendas painted constantly on NFL endzones, 24/7 access with social media phones tablets internet. shout sports shows, everybody and there mother has a podcast now. now with sports betting from your phone.
no sports is not a distraction from anything the BLM stickers, demonstrations of whatever in the world at the time, and large corporation advertisements on jerseys wont ever let you forget the real agenda at play.

.....to hate so much stuff using so many misspelled words and such horrible grammar.
Try to find something to make you at least a little happier...for all its faults, the world is still a very nice place to be.

One wonders if there is any room any more for just a discussion of, or searching for, the facts?
And did social media really mean to kill them so bluntly?

TigerNet ain't no Spellin' Bee!
And OP has a great point, albeit presented with hastened and careless grammar, coupled with a lack of proper syntax.
Sports are continuing to devolve into an excuse to market and hawk crap at the viewers. All da while, the media conglomerates that own the broadcasting of sports continue to hurl their narratives at viewers. Best to take in a game in person, when you can, to avoid the constant drivel that comes through the tube.

I think my real point was that it's easy to blame pretty much anything for things changing. Things will never be like the good old days - which quite frankly weren't always as good as we think they were. So if what you enjoyed or used as a distraction doesn't work anymore, find something else.
I agree attending live games helps but.....still bombarded with ads on the loud speaker (Tigers score 28 points, get your free BoBiscuit - or whatever that ad is) and on the scoreboard. IT's just part of our world.
And no, this "ain't no Spellin' Bee". But try to get close enough so one can get the meaning without guessing....

Don’t know how those guys came up with hate from your post. Let’s just say the times they are a changing. The Travis Kelces of the world were raised with cell phones and form opinions way earlier in life than is older guys did. If you were a world class athlete and someone offered you a quarter mil to promote something you believe in you would Probly do it. And Joe DiMaggio brought Marilyn Monroe to the Stadium back in the fifties. Nothing remains the same. Everyone wishes for the way it use to be As to the Manning’s I do think 5 Head Peyton is one of the biggest fakes in sports. Try my method. Don’t watch sports talk shows or listen on radio. It’s just the same thing over and over ad nauseum. The talking heads are enough to turn you off to sports When I watch a game I turn the sound down (And certainly don’t listen to Munson). After a few minutes you will start your own narrative in your head and won’t miss the miss the sound
Speaking of sports talk shows does anyone else think that the Pat MaCaffe show is a total knockoff of the Dan Patrick Show only with a wife beater. Dan should Sue him for copyright infringement

Totally agree. I do the same thing. Mute goes on for Beth Mowins games before she can pierce my ears and shatter my wife's precious crystal ware. Volume is lowered to ambient noise level for all others. No possible way I would every watch a Sports Talk show anymore since they basically became barroom brawls on tape. Also, the thought of watching the Mannings for another minute, turns my stomach.. Why in the world would I watch Opie of Mayberry and the Beluga Whale talk about anything? Good grief. Enough already! You boys need to take your entire overrated family and go back to Beau Chene, or whatever swamp y'all evolved from down there.

I used to listen to sport podcast/radio at work, but I got tired of them only talking about the same teams over and over. and yes that included Clemson. So I switched over and started listening to history related podcasts. In case you are interested, "Timesuck" is a good one because he is a comedian who covers topics in a fun way. His two part series on the JFK assassination is amazing.

I do say the first long sentence was really hard to follow. However, it is the childish people on Tigernet who waste their time tearing apart someone's grammar or spelling in a chat post that as probably fat-fingered on a smartphone where you cannot read the whole screen.
That said, I get the whole thing. Sports truly are no longer common ground like they used to be. To me, the joy has gone out of it and now we see strife even in the middle of a fanbase to take a support position for the political stand of the day.
What if I don't want to wear a black band or patch on my uniform to support whatever? As a fan what if I don't want to watch Megan Rapinoe make her political stand and nor do I want to have to explain to other fans why I do or don't support kneeling during the national anthem. I just want to go to a game and enjoy it with everyone without ever having to take any kind of political/religious/environmental position or even to support some "noble cause".
Yes, I want to go to a Clemson Game, Greenville Drive game, or a Nascar race and be distracted from the world for a bit. This is increasingly not possible. Seems like I can't even go hiking or fishing these days to escape. Got protested for my fuel use at the docks in Florida this past June. Went to hike at a nature preserve in Hilton Head and got hounded to sign a petition in July.

till your last sentence on large corporations on jerseys. How ridiculous it was for me when I tuned in to the Braves for the first time all year, and there's a ludicrous QUIKRETE patch in their left shoulder sleeve staring up at the camera on every pitch.
This is ALMOST as bad as Don Munson having to include something about Food Lion donating meals every time we get a QB sac.

I understand and agree for the most part. I liked the 1 o’clock games home games and the not waiting on the guy to take his countdown clock off the field. I sit there sometimes and think about how much time I’m sitting there with no on the field action. I understand it pays the bills but it’s not going to get any better I’m afraid.
