The ACC Championship game
Dec 5, 2014, 8:38 AM

Is going to Blow! I realize that the Coastal Division " was great" once upon a time but this match-up sux, IMO. While we didn't win the games we needed to be in the ACCCG I still think we would give FSU a much better game. No sour grapes, just wish the ACC was a stronger league top to bottom....I hate being a part of a 2nd class conference...

You think FSU is going to have an easy time?
Dec 5, 2014, 8:44 AM

They've only won 3 games by more than 2 scores all season. Opponents in those games? The Citadel, Wake Forest, and Syracuse. 6 of their 12 wins have come down to the final possession, including their last 3.
Unless a different FSU team shows up tomorrow night it's going to be a close game and GT should have a decent chance at winning.

Homestly, I hate FSU and wish they would lose every game but I don't see GT stopping the alleged rapist tonight. He loves a big game and all of the spotlight so he'll play gang busters. Also, if I remember correctly most Tnetters discount Paul Johnson as a terrible coach that runs a gimmick offense....so I don't put a lot of faith in them. Just my opinion.

I still can't believe that we let that one slip away. We would be line for the playoff if we had just seized the opportunity that was given us with JW's suspension.

Anytime you want to leave this 2nd class conference, just do it, don't talk about it.

Why all the defense/love for the ACC? What have they done for us? Absolutely NOTHING! We are always treated different by the officials and it has played a huge part in our loss to FSU. Seems every day or so there is a Fire Swofford post on here claiming bias and hate towards Clemson. Also, the ACC's silence in the situations at both UNCheat's academic scandal and FSU lack of institutional control in regards to off the field issues screams favoritism. If that we're going on at Clemson, I believe it would be handled much differently. If you doubt that the rest of CFB views us as one of the weakest of the power 5 conferences just look at what is happening to FSU, they keep winning and dropping in the polls, why? It's certainly not happening to any other conference except maybe the Big 10. So my comments, while you may disagree with them, have some ring of truth to them. I want to be in a conference where we are viewed as something other than a red-headed step-child. IMHO, that's how Clemson is viewed as a member of the ACC.

week. Pull your head out of the ESPN SEC hype machine. I agree that I would like to see the ACC field better teams top to bottom, but there is no way the ACC is a second class conference.

An FSU team that has NOT dominated anyone all season.
A GT team that demolished us AND beat Georgia in Athens.
A difficult offense to prep for in a week.
Potentially a rainy game, limiting the impact of FSU's pass attack.
I don't see any reason why this game won't be close. If anything, I give the edge to Tech.
And I'm not sure why you think a game between the #11 team in the country and the #4, only undefeated and defending national champion team would "suck"...as opposed to Alabama vs #16 Missouri, a team that got beat 34-0 by the same Georgia team that GT beat AND a team that lost to INDIANA. Or how about watching a team that lost to VT who now plays a third string QB against a team that lost to Northwestern.
The ACC just swept four SEC teams in one weekend. One of their bottom-dwellers beat #5 Ohio State and even BC was able to take down Southern Cal. Perhaps you should stop drinking the ESPN Kool-Aid and actually watch the teams. The ACC has had a darned good season.

I don't drink the ESPN Kool aid. I am sorry that my comments about the ACC has so many defensive. Yes, last weekend was a coup for the ACC. Yes this weekend ACCCG features the #4 vs #11 and you may be right, it could go either way. My deepest apologies for my views. I'm glad to know that, in the opinion of many, we are both loved and respected by the ACC and we are indeed lucky to be a member of this conference. Sorry again for ever questioning anything regarding the greatness of the ACC.

I was actually taking this post at face value until you finished with "I'm glad to know that, in the opinion of many, we are both loved and respected by the ACC and we are indeed lucky to be a member of this conference. Sorry again for ever questioning anything regarding the greatness of the ACC."
Yeah, yeah. You're a misunderstood martyr. Because there are a lot of responses on here going on and on about how we are both loved and respected by the ACC and a lot of people saying that you can never question anything about the greatness of the ACC. Very accurate portrayal.

I agree with you that when Clemson plays its best, it is the team in our conference best equipt to compete with FSU. You should still expect an competitive and interesting game tomorrow night, as FSU has been playing poorly. Besides their QB, FSU's biggest advantage, in my view, is that they continue to play loose in close games, and just make the plays that they need to win. If it is close late, Tech will need to maintain its poise, and not give the game away by making a critical mistake.
