Fellas, Ive tried to support Cole...
Oct 26, 2014, 5:38 PM

I really have. I dont like hearing people put our boys down and booing our own players, but ####! I am officially off of the bandwagon now. This guy is killing us and eventually he is going to cost us a game against a team we should beat. I mean, seriously...Syracuse? Is Shussler hurt? Why not play him after that debacle last night? Cole makes HIGH SCHOOL freshman mistakes. And God forbid he throws anything other than a screen pass. I dont know guys...I hate not supporting him, but I also hate watching our whole team suffer because of the play of ONE person. If it werent for our defense, who play lights out every play, we would really be in trouble. We cant keep depending on the defense to save us. Our offense, more specifically our QB, has GOT to step up!

When is he going to cost us a game?

You think we're going to lose to Wake? His job is to hold down the fort and keep playing through injuries until Watson comes back, which should be for the G. Tech game. Mission accomplished so far.

He is not a superstar, but is a serviceable quarterback. I think if Watson were not coming back, we would adjust our offense to better suit Stoudt, but since he is just keeping the seat warm - he is fine. The third string is a a third string for a reason (was fourth). Don't look across the fence. Stoudt's grass green enough.

IMO...idk if he should be considered "serviceable" any longer. A "serviceable" quarterback doesn't turn the ball over like he does. I know he hasn't had that many turnovers on the stat sheet, but there have been so many plays where he just tried to give the ball away. Had our WRs not been so defensive, he would have many more. To deem him "serviceable," he just needs to take what's there and be okay with barely moving the football until an opportunity presents itself.

At this point - he is who we got.
No sense in bashing him .... Got to cheer those nice plays and hope for more.
Every Tiger fan hopes for a speedy and full recovery by DW.

Maybe the "Hold until relieved" attitude is what I need to adopt with Cole. I wont boo him, and I wont bad mouth him at a game, but in my mind im wondering what the crap s going on with him. It seems to just get to me when we run series after series of 3 and outs. Run it twice, attempt a pass, punt. I guess I should just hold on and keep my mouth shut for one more game...

You won't speak badly of him at a game, where people know who you are, but a little anonymity on a message board and you're willing to rip him? Feel better? Proud of yourself?

Cole is our Major John Howard, placed on the bridge with instructions to hold until relieved. Wake should be the final hurdle.
For all the grousing and complaining, I feel in years to come people will look back on this as a gutsy stand that helped Clemson return to national prominence. Being able to win ugly looks beautiful in hindsight.

When are people going to stop taking the easy way out?
Duuhhhh… (reading off card) ok…. uhhh… "blame the QB". Oh yeah, yeah! Hey it's the QB's fault, it's the QB's fault!
And it's really lovely that the even the creative among you can only get to the next level: "It's the OC's fault! It's the OC!"
morons…. make all of Clemson look bad.

"fans giving up easily". He hasn't played good a single game this season. He just isn't good enough to play at this level. Syracuse is a terrible team, and he was throwing passes right to Cuse players when there would be 3 wide open Clemson receivers.

look towards ga tech. I would run Davidson and gallman and throw screens every play. That's all we've got right now. We've got receivers running open but idk if cole gets scare or second guesses or what but most balls farther than 10 yds are 50/50 picks.

He has defenders in his face before he can follow through on a pass. Line up a couple of our DEs on offense next to center and let the boy throw the ball.

Embarrassing.
He is who we have. He is a third string QB, our first string QB has a broken finger and second string QB was an asshat and got kicked off the team.
Cole has never done a negative thing to Clemson, he has a great attitude and is just managing the game the best he can.

IF you can not support him any longer, it is time for you to move on to another team....coots or ga or unc or gt or fsu. Yep, fsu sounds right for you. They have a good qb you could support.
But, if you want to remain a Clemson fan, what other choice do you have but to support him? Sounds like you want to lose instead of supporting him. I will admint, I was mouthy when Watson was not starting over Stoudt. But I do have enough sense to know that Watson is hurt and Cole is playing injured and hanging in there. Do I think he gets a little too cocky sometimes for my liking...yes I do. BUT, I will support whoever is on the field.
Why bring up the criticism when there is not another option?? Makes no sense. Get behind him and support. Ya know, often times people try too hard when they are receiving the criticism he is exposed to. I know what some will say.....he is a grown man and should be able to handle it. But he is also human and most humans can not handle criticism well.

I've tried and been very successful in my attempts! I may not like 100 % of his play.....but he is a Tiger and I will not ATTACK him! Personal attacks are something I would expect out a USuCk fan toward poor QB play. And yes there is a difference between complaining and attacking.

Cole has tried his best. He's played hurt and hasn't complained. I'm sure he'd love to be able to perform at the level of a DW. Can you imagine if -- after loosing CK -- we didn't have Cole to fill in while DW is out?

Realize that over half of our offensive starters are out with injuries? The fact that Cole can still hold it together and win, however ugly, is quite an accomplishment. If we didn't have the depth that we have, we could easily be looking at the same record as USuC.
