Don’t know how many people understand what establishing a Texas to Clemson pipeline is gonna do for the future of our program. If we can strengthen our camp in Texas and get the S Florida pipeline back up we are in VERY good shape. I know everyone cries about the coots getting some in state talent but these Texas kids come in ready to play and have the understanding what big time football is all about.

Agreed high school football in Texas is valued more there than it is in the palmetto state.

You obviously never been to Summerville HS, Berkeley, Byrnes, Fort Dorchester, Dutch Fork, and several others in SC. They take their HS football pretty darn serious. But Texas has another level due to population size but that is true in GA and FL.

It's a known fact that the SC blue chip ratio has been lower than other states we have been drawing from. We do recruit elite players in-state when they are there.

Don’t get me wrong SC has some good football as well just look at AW but Texas is on another level getting our foot in the door there is huge

This program thrives on NC, GA, FL, AL, and TX. Most years SC doesn't produce the talent we are seeking. There will always be some three stars out of Daniel and TL Hanna to fill classes when numbers are low.

The Tigers need to stay very active in Georgia football also. The Dogs will always get their share but Coach Dabo has established a very good presence there too. Adding Texas is an amazing boost to our total recruiting package. I can see that “other” S.C. school doing well in the Palmetto state but the good guys will always get their share of instate talent. Florida has become a mystery to me. I think they are lagging behind a little bit compared with previous years. There are several big time football private academies in Fla. but Clemson has not had success recentl..

I think it bears mentioning that Morris has deep ties across the state of Texas. Texas is perhaps the most fertile recruiting state in the country along with Florida ( the Scott's) and California. We have only begun to see the results of our recruiting efforts here. If Morris were to allow us to gain an even greater foothold in that state his hiring will have been well worth it

When Morris was here as the OC, he didn’t bring the Tigers much in recruiting TX successfully. I think the success of the CFP years, Jeff Scott, and Venables is what finally opened up Texas for the program. Covid years recruiting probably caused a drop off but now I think Riley’s offense will get things rev’d up again in Texas.

recently, and they were impressed with our recruiting thus far there, especially landing Cade.
What was particularly impressive were their comments about Clemson's national reputation. One, a former high school coach, said, "When you can come out here and out-recruit A&M and the Longhorns in their own backyards, you're a huge national brand."
My own thinking is we should scout the state even moreso, right on down into the smaller schools, for football in Texas is a far, far different beast than in most other states.
With Coach Morris back on campus, I'd like to see him also used as a Special Coordinator for recruiting the state of Texas, a position in which he may prove invaluable.

Texas is a huge, Friday Night Lights, football loving state. I was thinking Cade and the other Texans could fly together in the same plane back there during breaks. That's legal with this NIL thing right?

So we got Morris in order to open a recruiting pipeline in Texas?
I'm not a Morris hater, but I don't understand his re-hire. Bit this is intentional , no one knows exactly what an analyst does. Terry Bowdens analytics were never obvious and he was a NC coach.

For every Summerville, we have five Cross/St. John's/Academic Magnet kind of schools. It's not that the sport isn't important to each school and that Friday nights are not a big deal in South Carolina. It's the sheer numbers, as you mentioned, that gets us.
For example, Dutch Fork, a really good football school with seven of the last eight state titles, has under 2,000 students. Allen (TX) HS has 5,000+ students. Consider that there could be guys who can't make the roster at Allen that might start at Dutch Fork.
THAT'S why we need Texas.

Yep, it is a numbers thing. By the way I played against Summerville and Berkeley. Against Summerville I knew we were in trouble when their huge band marched out playing loud and looking bigger than our football team as they did precise drills.
