And work they’re doing to not fall behind. We may be doing the same thing but I can’t say for sure so that’s why I won’t say the same for us right now even though I do believe we’re working hard on it too.

Honestly, this is pretty smart. No reason we can't do the same. Wall Street coming into the mix might give those pompous d-bags up in toe-backy gulch something to think about. If they're smart they are already calling Wake Forest and GT Tech and UVA and letting them know their payouts are dropping THIS year and Clemson and FSU's is going up.

The ACC is not a dictatorship where the commish can make this kind of decision. It would need to be voted on by the presidents (who would need BOT approval) and the WF/GT/UVA presidents would get a vote.

I don't think you understand. This is to raise capital in order to pay the reported $120 million break-up fee. We pay the fee and then we hit the bricks. So long ACC! What we give it up to Wall Street is the next question.

If the GOR is really $500 million and they borrow the money, the interest and fees will consume all/most/much of any additional revenue they would get from a new conference (assuming they get a bid) so why would they make the change?

FSU should really worry about beating the Weak Florist this year. They have lost 3 in a row to the Deacs. Their argument of being worth it would look a little more legit.

A court battle will be expensive and this might be why the are looking to raise some cash.

The ACC’s ESPN contract expires in 2036, and to get out of it early FSU would need to resolve the Grant of Rights issue, which legally gives members’ media rights to the conference through the duration of the TV deal.
“That’s the least of my worries based on what we know,” Peter Collins, FSU board chair, said about the Grant of Rights document during a Tuesday appearance on Warchant TV. “We understand it. We have gotten a lot of counsel on that document. That will not be the document that keeps us from taking action. And I’ll leave it at that.”
I'd like to know what Collins means about the GOR and that document not keeping them from taking action.
