ESPN's article says the new bowl agreement between SEC and Big XII involves the champions of those conferences unless the champions are involved in the 4-team playoff. In which case, another deserving team is selected. What difference is this than the current Rose Bowl? Nowhere does it say, "this new bowl game is National Semifinal #1". We don't even know the format of the 4-team playoff, but everyone is saying the ACC and Big East and Boise and whoever will automatically be left out? Insert Lee Corso's favorite line.

it seems that same as it is today. Schools have claim to one of the Big 4 bowls.
