I don’t think the priority issue was receiver play when DJ was here.

And Cade’s issues handing off the ball is his responsibility as well.

But yesterday, the receivers were just taking way too long to get separation. This is why Cade had to scramble so much. And maybe this is the reason for the FSU scoop and score.

The younger guys are obviously progressing better than even the veterans like Collins, and they’re developing still so you can’t put full blame.

Collins did well on some out routes yesterday and getting separation, but he just can’t get separation.

The same with Randall. I don’t know what the problem is with him. He is obviously a physically mature receiver, and a highly recruited one at that. But again, never separation.

What Collins did yesterday was more using his body to block out the defender than really getting separation. Looked like he was blocking out for a rebound a couple of times and that kept the defender on his back while he made the catch. Loved seeing that from him.

Collins’s also quit blocking at the goal line, he turned around and looked back, as Shipley was about to score. The guy he quit blocking made the tackle at the one yard line.

I think there was a lot more separation than Cade saw. While he was locked on his target the full play, on the other side he had open receivers much of the day.

Cade did not have a good day. Missed on open guys way more than normal. He will get better. Go Tigers!
