the other team. It’s just a fact being little ol clemson Vs the world. The ND futbol match reiterated how we have to overcome referees with a clear agenda against us. It makes the winning even more special! Congratulations Clemson United! Gooo Tigers!

I didn't see anything that was concerning from refs last night.

I screamed at the TV a couple time because of the officiating.

Most times the replay proved me wrong, but knowing the offical made the call without the benefit of the replay made me think I was still correct.

There was two of the yellow cards that should have just been a throw in and or play on. There were times I felt ND deserved a red (maybe) and didn’t get anything called. The ref was smiling on the last couple of Clemson yellow cards. I thought they were legit tackles and were a “play on” moment. I was honestly a little surprised he didn’t throw a red to put us down a man in the final minutes to allow the equalizer for the Domers.

That’s my honest opinion. I’m not a rules expert in soccer by any means. Offsides still makes me scratch my head. Why penalize a player for getting behind the defense?!

Hockey offsides rule is superior in every way to the soccer rule. Heck you could have a machine call offsides in hockey. Puck mush cross blue line before player can cross. EZPZ

I agree. I thought the ref let the guys play and thought that they passed up on

a couple of penalties they could've/should've called on us, including one in the penalty box in the first half. It was a very physical, aggressive game by both teams, but our guys definitely played very aggressive or physical. They wanted the win badly, even up 2-0.

Clemson 6 Notre Dame 0 as in 6 yellow cards for Clemson none for Notre Dame

Some of them were deserved by Clemson, but if you call them one way you gotta call the same thing against the other team when they do it too.

Most of the yellow cards we received were jersey pulls and not all jersey pulls were called.

The no high kick call was bad.

The penalty before the hand ball was a bad call.

That's about it.

until mid way thru the second period, I though the officiating was pretty good. They were pretty much letting the teams play.

Clemson dodged a HUGE bullet when the officials failed to call an obvious foul in the box that would have given Notre Dame a penalty kick and could have shifted the momentum to the Bee Bee Heads.

I agree. First half was pretty square. They also missed some calls that would have helped us out late in the game. ND was in full on attack mode and overplaying people. During that span, I felt they missed at least two yellows on domers.

Some of the yellow card were puzzling.

Not sure what they think they saw that rose to the level of a yellow card.

Agreed, OneJedi. First half was handled pretty well. Second half did not seem impartial. Our guys showed a ton of poise at times as it was clearly being used to rattle them.

ND should have been carded (red) on the spike to the upper body on Gibert (I think). We actually got the yellow for protesting a bit too hard.

Totally agree. Very fair for most of the game and felt like it got tighter on us

Midway through the second. But honestly it felt like we were playing a bit sloppier and tighter late in the second, which was frustrating in itself.

Overall I thought the ref did a fine job. Maybe if we had lost I would feel differently. ;)

Refs make poor calls from time to time, sometimes they benefit the team you cheer for, and sometimes they hurt the team you cheer for. With that said, if the refs truly had an agenda against Clemson to the point of trying to ensure victory by ND then Clemson would've lost.

I am by no means a soccer expert nor do I watch much of it other than watching my 8 yr old when he plays. Watching the game last night I couldn’t help but feel that way. It just seemed obvious but I kept thinking maybe it’s just me.

On the whole, I thought he did fine. Clemson's cards actually kept ND from getting wound too tight and, believe it or not, the officials talk to the players throughout the game...and listen, too. It's all about trying to find that 'just right' tenor the players want for the match.

Yes, occasionally there are officials who think they're the star attraction, but generally, they want to be the last thing discussed.

Both sides left a couple goals out there...I swear, there are times you can see the goal posts pucker just a tad! :)

Yeah, all of the referees in the world hold an annual meeting - and pick out Clemson as the one team that they want to screw over - every year - unanimous.
