of the woods, and I say Indians, because according to them, that's what they prefer to be called. One told me that this Native American jazz, was probably thought up by some ugly white woman, that had no life. If you were born in America, then we're pretty much all native Americans. They said when the name of the Redskins was changed, it felt like their team had been taken away from them. They took a great deal of pride in that name, and that team.

Seems she's not what a lot of people think she is. He was all on board with this brave young lass, that dared to stand up to the worlds leaders. That is until he actually checked the facts. His conclusion was that, she needed to go home, grow up, and try to live as normal a life, as youngster lives these days. I kinda got the impression, that he felt she was an entitled brat, that was encouraged by her parents.

Actually they were asked and they didn't want the name changed. Name was picked in honor of a coach and 4 Indians that were on the team at the time and in honor of all Indians. Logo that we know today was consulted on helped by 2 different Indian groups. No different than the FSU. The horse and outfit used at FSU home games comes and designed by a local Seminole tribe.

I was concerned if the Washington Redskins ever jettisoned that mascot over the objections of just a few then Thanksgiving was next. Snyder was a pretty crappy owner though. Wouldn't doubt he ginned up some of that on his own to play the hero card to make up for problems elsewhere.

but Commanders is pretty lame and I wouldn't be surprised if it gets changed to something better.
Also, as I'm sure you're all aware, one advocacy group doesn't necessarily speak for an entire population. There were Native Americans who liked the Redskins name, and there were Native Americans who hated it.
