Since there are several ACC teams

Dec 18, 2020, 10:21 AM

Turning down bowl bids, how will bowl monies be divided up among conference members? My feeling is that any team which turns down a bid should not be eligible for any of our bowl money because we didn't get a share of theirs.

I was formally known as Furious george and have changed my name to match the name I use to call on WCCP radio.

We have Swoff on the job as a short timer. So if that doesnt worry you it should. I could see ND and UNC being given most of what little money is generated by bowls

Two of the teams turning down a bowl game (VT anf UVA) are sub-.500 so they really should not be bowling anyway. GT is 3-7, jeeze they are not a bowl team.

The other two are 6-5 (Pitt and BC). They are 6th/7th respectively. They are not turning down any bowl of consequence as they will likely be in the Pinstripe, the now not happening Tony the Tiger (Sun bowl), or the Music City bowl. Maybe the Taxslayer bowl depending on which bowls are cancelled.

Split the money, don't Witch, and move on. Don't act like Texas in the B12.

With the financial situation at almost every school over the past year, it's hard to tell the teams making the sacrifice to continue and play to just share evenly.

Even the smallest bowls would have added revenue to the conference that is most likely sorely needed by all of the schools involved.

my understanding is that some of the lower tier bowls don't pay enough to share after expenses... could be wrong
