I would like to hear the details. Much more to this guys story than a quick read of his skills can tell. Clemson material? Very doubtful.

Then racked up a bunch of sacks at a smaller school.
I know Dabo's philosophy is to only go high school and develop. And he knows more about football in his sleep then I will ever know.
Still, I feel like DE and LB would be definite portal positions for us like WR last year but we don't have room anyway.
We will see if we have enough at LB and DE to get through this year. Got to start getting luckier injury-wise especially in our razor thin areas I mentioned.

I get the feeling he's a problem child of sorts as well. I just think it may be better to tolerate that in the short term than to bring a guy in for four years that you really didn't think could compete at a high level anyway.

I think we are more competitive avoiding the portal. That's how we keep our players from transferring. We are loyal to them.

Its better to take a guy for a single year and go back to the drawing board than to take a guy for four years that doesn't play at the level you're accustomed too.

More often than not they grow and get better. I think Dabo is doing it right. Family. Loyalty. That's what Clemson sells. Dabo walks the walk.

Many recruits referenced how we use the portal as a positive. Given we don’t pay up front NIL, we need every differentiator possible if we hope to continue to recruit on a top 10 basis.
Grabbing a guy who has already transferred twice is nice for the coots but I don’t see it helping us in terms of the big picture

He recently graduated (August) making him eligible as a graduate transfer rather then undergraduate "portal" transfer.

Dabo won't do portal until he is absolutely forced to. Not even close to that point yet. Let's see where we finish in recruiting and more importantly where we finish at the end of this season in total wins and national standing. Trust in Dabo and what he believes is best for Clemson and his players.

I believe portal players don't have the drive to succeed. They were unable to make it at their previous stop, and simply gave up. At Clemson, we want players that are willing to put in the work to earn their spot, and want to be at Clemson. We don't want players that give up. Let them go to USCjr.

All 3* aren't created equal. If we sign a 3* at a skill position chances are we missed on at least two fours.
