I think the only way for Clemson

3

Sep 2, 2023, 2:05 PM

to get out of the ACC, is to do something that has never been done before in the history of college sports. That is for all of Tiger Nation to band together and buy Clemson out of the ACC though fan donations to make easier for our beloved Clemson to buy her way out of the sewer the ACC has dove head first in....

Clemson leadership incompetence got them in this mess. Plus, their loyalty to the ACC, not the fans, contributed just as much. So, I will pass on contributing to save them from themselves.

I think it can be done if people that are alums and even the ones that are not would buy in and believe this is the best thing to do for Clemson. This attempt would have to really span across the world to get that type of support.

With me living monthly through a SSI check, it would be tough for me to put up, but I would bc that is how much I love Clemson and Clemson sports.

I understand some feeling that Clemson got themselves in this mess, but I believe that it was bc they were being loyal to the conference that they were one of the first seven original member schools, and the weight of being loyal is actually why we're in the BS than we're in this very minute, and if our Clemson needed my donation to help them out of this mess, I would do without to help bc I have been loyal to Clemson since I was 10 years old, and I have 60 years invested in Clemson and Clemson sports, and I would gladly help her out if she needed me. Being a loyal trusting person is what I've lived my entire life holding onto, and at the age of 70, it wouldn't make any sense for me to change who I am this late in the only life I'll have to live...

If I was to see something come up on T-Net that Clemson needed her fan base help, I would have my lawyer friend to check it out to make sure that donations were being taken up to help Clemson buy her way out of the ACC, and if he said it was safe to donate, I would donate. But that's just me and the type of man that I am. I am what I am with absolutely no intentions of changing!!!! I believe that if any of my close friends were asked about my feeling for Clemson, they would say that I'm All Orange All the Time every day of my life....

There are risks in everything. Clemson and other GOR signees were confident the new ACC would be a football power. By all rights they should have been. Who knew FSU, Miami, Virginia Tech, Louisville and others would all continue to suck long term? Everyone has waited for years for the U, Clemson, FSU, and others to all be good at once. It has never happened. It’s not about how bad the UVA’s or Boston College teams are, it’s more about the top ACC teams sucking. If all the top teams were what they once were the ACC would not be where it is today. The sucky ACC deal is pure and simple a product of that underachievement.

I read yesterday that the college football playoff games are going to be valued at $100 million per game! That is where the possibility for Clemson and FSU to leave the ACC early lies, not in some fan gofundme campaign. The SEC and B1G (ESPN and Fox) are currently weighing that risk with respect to Clemson and FSU. The value of Clemson and FSU goes up greatly when we go to the 12 team playoffs IF both teams are still viewed as contenders year in and year out. Suddenly $100 million exit fees don’t seem so insurmountable. It’s all about the $ and taking risks. The next year or two and performance on the field will define Clemson’s future. If they ball out Fox will not worry about helping them out of the ACC GOR conundrum.

If the SEC wanted FSU or Clemson, then don’t you think they would have already found the money to leave the ACC?

You should have left when Maryland left 10 years ago.

Cannot beat your rival consistently on the field, so you take to the message boards? How bout them Gators?! How’s it going to feel when your beloved Coots make your SEC teams 0-2 starting the season tonight?

“Should have left when Maryland did”. I don’t disagree. Hindsight is 20:20.

You are not very bright if you cannot see that Clemson, UNC and FSU already have a landing spot. The “no” vote is very telling, but your coot IQ would not let you rationalize such things. Now scurry along and get ready for your butt whooping tonight.

flag link military_tech thumb_downthumb_up

Lol. Clemson is going to the SEC, which means the coots drop another rung on the conference ladder.***

^^^^^^^^ I agree with you. After everything that’s been going on lately with all the talk about leaving the ACC and then nothing happened in August regarding the SEC or BIG 10 I was disappointed. But I was thinking the best thing we can do this season is win win win (I think that every season!) . Being in the playoffs and winning the national championship this year makes us more valuable to those 2 conferences. SO all we have to do this year is win the national championship 😆 I’ve got it all figured out for us!

I could be wrong bc getting old affects the memory, but I don't think that I've ever heard Dabo openly make a comment about how good he believes that his FB team will be during a season, and he has made that comment this season for a reason, I just don't know exactly what his reasoning was, but he has said that he expects this 2023 team to play for a natty, and I personally have never heard those words come from his mouth in no season until this season....

OK....and go WHERE exactly? Last I checked, we don't have an invite to join the B1G/SEC.

Screw Calford.

Of course we do

Sep 2, 2023, 4:12 PM

The three teams who voted “no” to ACC expansion already have back channel promises of landing spots. What they don’t have is help working out buyouts and GOR. That will come if we keep winning.

You say that without knowing a single word that has been talked about between Clemson and FSU, nor do you know about any words that has been discussed between Clemson and the SEC or the BIG. But I guess you're absolutely right about one thing, the last you've checked, we don't have an invite that you know of, and that's bc you haven't actually been privy to any conversation that Clemson has talked about in any secret conversations. So yes, as far as we know as fan base, we actually don't know anything about an invite to either league, but there could be that isn't being about to the public, and it could be No we can't help you out. The absolute truth is, we know nothing, and we want no a thing until after it has been done!!! But it is OK to think that there is hope with one or the other that they don't even know what's been talked about with either or....

Currently, I don’t get the overwhelming sentiment to move to the SEC. There is a disparity in money, but it’s not nearly the amount of money it takes to get out of the grant of rights agreement. instead of donating money to get out of the grant of rights, Just donate money to make up the difference in the disparity. Our season will definitely be easier in the ACC, just hang here until big changes come and the grant of rights gets more manageable

Nothing about staying in the ACC could ever be good for Clemson. And I, one a few that has been screaming for us to get the H&ll out of the ACC bc it has been sinking for a L O N G time!!!
