ACC GOR applies only to home games.

Aug 26, 2023, 11:53 AM

Paragraph 1 lays out that each school “irrevocably and exclusively” grants the league those television rights to its home games “regardless of whether such Member Institution remains a member of the Conference during the entirety of the Term.”

How much is each home game worth to us from a tv revenue standpoint? Let’s start the gofundme

Since every team plays the same number of home games the point is moot.

Depends upon how the tv rights are defined in a new conference(SEC). Maybe ESPN pays $1 to carry a home Clemson game but $40m for an Alabama one. The conference then adds it all up and divides by n teams. Clemson pays the $7 to the ACC in all pennies…

I’m no lawyer but for sure there’s wiggle here

so the play would be get some additional road games with the new league until the GOR expires. Does it apply to home games against non-acc foes?

Also, whats the 120M exit fee look like each year through 2036? I assume goes down each year.

Just spit balling. Are schools required to play a certain number of home games? What is to stop Clemson or FSU from playing neutral site “road” games? Does the school or the conference have more leverage in this matter? I am sure this is not feasible at this point. But, if things get more and more contentious between schools and the conference, could this be a thing a school turns to? Again, this is probably very simplistic and a whole lot goes into it. Just my thoughts

Sure if you want the City of Clemson to go under. Most of the businesses depend on the home football games to sustain them for the year.

Problem Solved!!

Cancel all of the home games til 2036 and play em here in CLT at BOA stadium! I’ll look forward to taking an Uber to the games instead of the 2.5 hour drive; everyone wins!!
Also Neff wants to have more concerts at memorial stadium this’ll free up 7 more weekends for Taylor Swift and K Pop.
