“Ah heck” says the NCAA . “Let’s just round it up to 5”.
Meanwhile a team who cheated all season (Michigan) is allowed to play for the national championship. The NCAA is a joke.

Meanwhile a team who cheated all season (Michigan) is allowed to play for the national championship. The NCAA is a joke.
UNCheat got away with over 20 years of academic and athletic fraud. They setup an entire academic department (African-American Studies, or AAS) to keep their athletes academically eligible to play their sport. For the majority of the courses, the athletes only had to attend the first meeting of each course in each semester and write a paper to be submitted at the end of the semester. Except most of the athletes never wrote a paper -- the Athletic department paid staff and other students to write the papers. Athletes from all sports were strongly encouraged by the Athletic Dept to major in AAS. In 2005, UNCheat won the NCAAT. Four of the 5 starters majored in AAS; the other starter was taking mostly AAS courses. Of course, rumors were that those players were provided new cars; but who knows? It's a well-known fact that UNCheat was caught by the NCAA for the academic and athletic fraud, and was threatened by the NCAA with killing their athletic programs. Also, the Southern Association of Educators (SAE) threatened to pull the academic certification of UNCheat. (That's a very big deal; it means diplomas would hv bn downgraded.) Ultimately, UNCheat, w Swoffie pleading their case, paid a hefty bribe ($1.6 M was rumored) and UNCheat had to take a light slap on the wrist, plus close the AAS Department. (And SAE put them on a long probation period and required numerous continual reports of their corrections.)
Did they pay-off refs in all of those great seasons? Well, who knows, but it would have been a lot easier than starting an academic department. And we do know they were very crooked. Not a pretty picture.

5 scholarships per year for two years is still a big deal. It's about as harsh as punishments get now.

The way I read the penalties, they would be limited to 80 scholarship players in 24 and 25. Partly why they announced the sanctions before official signing day.

One example of what has been going on at Fl State for last 3 years. Those rascals are cheating to get their trophy. I hope they get into the SEC because they are cheating like most schools in that scum bum conference.

“punishment” will come to fruition at FSU…you’re dreaming.
This is no more than an “idle threat” to make the public think the “NCAA” has got the regulatory control of NCAA football on a short leash.
What a pathetic joke. FSU and Norvell can sleep easy knowing the NCAA has given them the GREEN LIGHT.

UGA didn't even they lost to Alabama. Last year title game was BigTen vs future BigTen like it would have been SEC vs future SEC if Texas Alabama would have won. I am waiting for 2024 playoffs to see which conference has most teams in the playoffs. NCAA never has honest rules about Final 4 format changing every years depending who they wanted it. 4 team format was always flawed when had 5 power conferences. Same as BCS format that SEC created to make Alabama champion every season

Exactly. Anyone who thinks money isn't flowing like water in Athens GA, they're stupid. No way 167 four and five stars on roster stay, competing for playing time while only 37 five stars transfer out while another 84 of the top 100 guys in the portal just signed with GA. With their annual high school signings of about 43 guys, their scholarship numbers have to be sitting a tad over the 85 at around 296 scholarship football players. "NIL" deals ahem straight payment deals at GA have to be somewhere around the total expenditure of the Dallas Cowboys, KC Chiefs and NASA.

Phooey!!! It’s like a vending machine being left unlocked. Free drinks or crackers and no one gets in trouble. Everyone knows it’s being robbed but no one cares. Then, all of a sudden, some body thinks it’s a good idea to lock it again. Phooey on ncaa. Everybody could see this mess coming. Going to be fun watching to see who can put the toothpaste back into the tube. Same as welfare in the USA.

NCAA left FSU out of final 4 then does this. But they let Michigan still get into the Final 4 with their cheating with became Michigan Natty. NIL was be the end of NCAA football until they actually make rules schools can understand and follow. I doubt anything FSU did was no where close to what Slime Time did at Colorado. Though now one seems to be able to work as fast as Slime Time. When left JSU for Colorado before season started fired most of the team and staff but in off season someone made an entire team. The transfer portal is crazy when not ruled against changing schools each year.

Michigan stole signs that everyone uses to signal in plays...Clemson has them...everyone does...Michigan had a person that figured out a way to break the code to some degree...that whole idea is fluid and can change and as the announcers say on broadcasts, some of the signs are fake in case someone is scouting...those signs are out there for everyone to see...if you don't want your signs stolen send in plays with a player...done all the time...change your panties...this ain't like calling up someone at UNC and telling him to enter the portal and we will pay you 15k per month to switch schools...or maybe it is the same thing to you!
