I feel like that has to be a type-o but either way Shipley playing in the bowl game was already announced and doesn't mean he's coming back next season one way or the other.

Can you imagine if Shipley actually played corner in a game? The hits he would lay on the receivers would be epic. Coming off a corner blitz? I hope we get a lead and Dabo puts him out there for fun.
Go Tigers!

I can picture him being like Sandler in the waterboy...
Screaming as he about to lay a hit...

Pearman… not so sure that Shipley has enough swivel to be an effective CB. 😉

I love Ship but I hope Dabo was joking about Ship being able to go at corner. Ship will be face down in the grass the first cut a WR makes.

Shipley at corner, did he play any at that position in high school?

Does bowl practice always start 2.5 weeks before the actual bowl?

I was surprised by that comment. Maybe higher confidence in Vizzina than we've been led to believe...

Yeah it does. I was disappointed to hear Tyson is coming back just to occupy space. Same with spector... time for him to move along. We could use both of those positions to get depth.
Really not concerned about who plays in the bowl, it's all about next year. Would be nice to see Misun Kelly.
As for Shipley, way to steal his thunder Dabo. Just couldn't help yourself. If I were Shipley, I'd be ticked. Then again, anyone with a pulse knew he was coming back when quadzilla portaled. Because quad was next man up.

Tyson only for the bowl game. He is out of eligibility so he won't be back next season.

I'm hoping he means we won't take a portal QB but we will take one in the 2024 class. Surely right? Obviously hoping it's Lagway flipping from FLorida but I'm not going to hold my breath.

I really believe Dabo is just not ever gonna take a QB that is capable of starting from the portal bc the ones in the portal expect to start and Dabo won't promise any of them a starting spot like other coaches. There obviously aren't any that would be willing to come in as a backup that would cost less NIL than Pearman and Tyson.

He said they were looking for a high quality PWO.

Our starter is returning, and his backup is a highly regarded redshirt. Pearman is a competent 3rd stringer. Tyson is 4th string.
Two questions ... If those are the coaches opinions,
1. Why on earth do we need another QB?
2. What quality QB who expects to play would want to jump into all of that?

I think Hood's comment "those around the program have expressed disapointment in Vizzina's development" is what lent credence to this thought.
Pearman may turn out to be a diamond in the rough but we will only have 3 scholarship QB's next fall and 2 of those with no experience. Tyson is a graduate student.

Nice of Dabo to be humble, and the utmost congratulations to Noonan and Co. for putting a fourth star on the Clemson United Shield! It was an awesome season and fun to watch.
However, Football Championships are what keep the lights on for all of Clemson Athletics - If Dabo wins another Natty, soccer is immediately an afterthought. It wouldn't be much of a tie.
If that is offensive to some, reality sucks. This is the South and real Football is King.
Sad Facts - Soccer doesn't make the 6 highest earning college sports but instead falls somewhere in line behind Equestrian and the horse jockeys.
