Down on John’s Island, Our TIGERS have finished their Opening Round . . .
Kudos to Andrew Swanson (-6), Thomas Higgins (a Clean Card, -4) and Kian Rose (-1) . . . Exceptional starts by these 3!!! Alberto Dominguez held on to shoot +3 for the 4th counted score.
May Round 2 be just as rewarding!!!
Crisp and Straight TIGERS!!!

Fantastic!!!!
I was so wanting Swan to birdie 10, or at worst, par it. 5 feathers in a row is skrong. He deserved a clean card.
Golfstats usually list ranking but best I can find is listed below. We have a good chance to move up and take down some teams ahead of us. And yes, I'm still sulking Jacob didn't qualify in a 4 for 3...
- Clemson 101 - Campbell 159 - Elon 100 - College of Charleston 73 - Indiana 45 - Augusta 85 - Chattanooga 23 - Boston College 130 - Lipscom 96 - Virginia Tech 83 - Kentucky 59 - UNCW 64 - Nebraska 92 - Maryland 214

for Round #2 attached.
In my half-witted analysis of Our Team and Chances in an earlier thread, I stated that we can score with anyone . . . It’s the “bad misses” and bad holes that are keeping us down. It was good to look at the Team Stats above and see that we lead this Tournament in “birdies”!!!
Our Starting Five had: Pars - 64 Birdies - 21 Bogies - 12 Double Bogies - 3
Our “Counting” Four had: Pars - 55 Birdies - 19 Bogies - 6 Double Bogies - 2
That’s one helluva improvement over the Fall and Last Season!!!

What'd we talk about the other day. Consistency. That changed in a hurry. I hope they don't cancel it to 36 holes. We're tied currently with the worst round. We need some feathers. We made a disaster out of 18... same hole we had a ton of success on yesterday.
Will be interesting to see if they try to get in another 18.

The Good News . . .

after stinking it up today:
- we hung on to WIN
- double bogey was the worst hole we had
- Jonathan Nielsen recovered to shoot where we though his potential was
- 4 of Our 5 Starters scored in the Top Half of the Field (The 5th was just outside)
- Andrew Swanson hung on to finish T-2nd Place
I’m reaching folks . . . While I’m grateful for the WIN . . . the way we played left A LOT to be desired . . . I haven’t a clue what the conditions were on John’s Island . . . maybe the wind affected play??? . . . I’ll take the WIN and move on . . . My questions don’t really need to be answered.

Nice win for the Tigers! Hopefully Swanson can become a little more consistent as the year progresses and the others can put together good rounds.

I will take a wild guess and say with the way the wind was in a good bit of the state of South Carolina today and as close The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek is to the Atlantic Ocean and the wind coming off of it then it was probably really tough conditions.Did not realize before doing a google map search that the The Golf Club at Briar’s Creek was as close as it is to Kiawah Island and the Ocean Course... https://www.google.com/maps/place/The+Golf+Club+at+Briar's+Creek/@32.6236752,-80.0515207,3834m/data=!3m1!1e3!4m6!3m5!1s0x88fdd52975e7d1a7:0x64faa910b15b6890!8m2!3d32.6338965!4d-80.0837435!16s%2Fm%2F04z6v22?authuser=0&entry=ttu
