I hate to turn attention away from FSU and their loss on a potential title but how do you guys feel we stack up against these SEC juggernauts?

They couldn’t beat the coots, but they loved the “doo-doo” ice.

I think we win, because they suck. We lose more players than they do though. Supposedly all of their players are playing. I am going with...
27-24 Tigers.

Can’t imagine they can score on us.
Think we score at least 10 points on them.

Actually a very good match up for us

They want to run the ball and control the clock. They aren't stellar on defense.
Should be a good game, but a good mathcup for us.

That’s what I’m worried about. If happy feet can start connecting with WR’s and we can create some slot plays I think we smoke em. If not it may be a long afternoon

They might be able to score on us easier than you think if we have issues at LB. Lets say we dont have Carter and Trotter? You never know.

There might be some more opt outs and portal announcements coming. This is about to be another thrown together patchwork mash-up that resembles an NFL preseason game. May as well just sit back and just evaluate the talent individually on both squads position by position.

This is exactly why I think Clemson wins this ball game. Of the players we will bring they were simply better recruits. Now, supposedly KY has most of their squad playing. But, remember, they apparently had a ton of injuries. Also, how many of their players will actually suit up that are NFL prospects?
They want to run the football. The LB's we have and the DL depth we have at DT is good enough to stop a one dimensional offense.
We have a QB that started all year and more time to work on a pass game that has all the potential to be explosive - if we can work out the OL so they give more time. Also, need to settle Cade down. This game will be 1 full cycle with him being "the guy". So, time to show it or we need to look for the Vizinni era to begin early.
Remember all - some of the RS freshman we have been saving are likely playing in this game! Dudes who have been on campus a year plus; who can play. This bowl practice is going to be great for them. If KY has trouble passing it; we win this game period. I am assumming coach Luke will be a part of bowl prep - I think that introduction of excitement will be something KY can't scout for on video. Same for the Young DE's we will rely on. Out of our NFL folks - who will play "if any" will be another question.
Either way - I still think we win! Deeper and better able to handle this type athmosphere.

Do yourself a favor and go in with ZERO expectations. Bowl games are a heavily diluted product. Maybe some young kids get a few meaningful snaps. Otherwise have a backup plan ready by halftime.

I don't really see us outscoring them. Our offense sucked before we lost our receivers and was not good in Columbia.

Kentucky is better than you think. They scored twice on the lamecocks. They had a pass intercepted in the endzone like we did. They also had a ball stripped inside of the red zone. They should have beaten the gamecocks. Kentucky defeated Louisville that played for the ACC championship. They have a good O line and D line which is the trademark of Stoops. They will try to make their season by whipping us. They will be very motivated. Don’t take them lightly. Looks like we gonna be missing several players.

but if you didn’t watch the Louisville - UK game then you should or at least review the stats and PBP. The game shouldn’t have been close. UL had 650 yds of Offense. Substantially outgaining them. They did that while also losing 3 TOs which basically turned the game on a dime in the 2nd half. Even with Trotter and Wiggins out, I’ll take our D over what seems like mostly a one dimensional O. Also, if Williams doesn’t hit the portal then he should be good to go. With him, Brown Stellato and Randall + a month of practice for the available RS we should have enough at receiver to run an offense that looks more like what we saw late prior to the USC game where we just went unless conservative. Have to protect the football though, it’s been our downfall too many times this year

I think Mizzou would beat us. Pretty explosive on offense. Unless of course their key guys are leaving.

I think their running back, Re'Mahn Davis, has declared and in all likelihood opted out. Has accounted for 23 of their 39 offensive touch downs and almost 2/3 of their rushing yards.

I believe you are right. They have a nice OL still. Nasty! The young DL will have to be ready to get physical. I am sure the young RB for KY will look decent playing behind their OL.
But, that's most of what they want to do. They want to run the football. I think their starter got hurt halfway through the season and they have been reeling since.
Someone said, "do yourself a favor and have no expectations during bowl season"! I tend to agree to a point. We will have several people in key spots not playing, but I think the way we have recruited will show itself in this game. Kentucky doesn't have a bad roster, but they haven't recruited on our level. Matt Luke being nice wildcard heading into the bowl prep will be huge. KY might be preparing for Thomas Austin OL play. Hopefully, we hit them with something nastier/meaner/more technically sound OL play.
We should have an advantage in terms of depth and we have our QB who started all season playing as of today.

I agree. Our offense is inconsistent and now we are weakened on defense with key losses...Ruke, Trotter, Wiggins, Makuba. That's a lot of talent gone.

Who even knows anymore with half the team transferring or not playing, seems there’s another one every day. Not sure why bowl games are even played anymore. It certainly isn’t representative of the 2023 team. Not just ours but anybody’s.

Talent wise we are better and a good game plan with what we have , the Tigers win by 2 TDs. BUT Kentucky is going to treat this game like their Superbowl. So I expect them to try and out Physical us. It’s going to come down to which Clemson team shows up the one that played NCST or the one that pushed ND around.
