So, safe to say Monte is not going anywhere.

When was he supposed to have his meeting with DRad? Not that we will ever hear specifics of what was discussed, but it would be nice to know that they had a serious talk about what is expected and goals that should be met in the program. Fans/supporters of the program should be informed on what changes are being made to improve, because everyone can agree some changes are needed.

Well I know right after the season Monte told DRad that in today's world it's hard to get the kids Clemson needs to be successful and to be competitive with other blue blood baseball programs with the advantages those schools have and what they can offer a kid in scholarship size. So right after the season DRad reinstated the common market (I think that's what it's called). Whether that helps or not well see bc all that does is give out of state students the same annual tuition as in state students with one caveat, that the out of state student's in state universities do not offer a class that Clemson does. So we'll see how it works out but you can rest assure that the coaches are going to do whatever it takes to get the best talent they can. That's not my concern, my concern is the culture. I'm not a fan of the way the players seem to play according how Monte is feeling. It seems like it is a top down mantra and not a bottom up where the players lead where this team should go. Then again the players seem to have Monte's back so maybe I'm wrong. All I know is when you have the first losing season in over 60 years something better change quick, fast and in a hurry.

Clemson did reinstate the common market policy, but I don’t think that’s had much to do with bringing in more recruits. It can’t hurt, but how much will it help?
I’m with you on the state of the culture and also player development. And none of the older team members have seemed to step up. Why? As for having Monte’s back, they are just as frustrated and concerned with team issues as we are.

Hey smart ###, it’s a discussion board. Just because we’re voicing concerns that you disagree with, no need to be a prick.

Maybe DRad will reevaluate Monte in about another 7 years.

Mark it down, Monte will say the same thing coot Kingston said because Monte has said it before. Then again, he's said it was pitching. It's been happening for several years. Every batter we have comes out of their shoes when they swing. That's great when you connect with a fastball and guess right.
Teo was a really good hitter coming out of high school. He didn't hit many homers but he hit a ton of line drive singles. Monte or whoever our hitting coach is has ruined him. Monte doesn't believe in taking an athelete and playing to their strength, be it bunting to get on base, or hitting to the opposite field. He's not a fan of putting the ball in play with ground balls... At least not what I've seen in 6 years. Anyway, below is Kingston quote. I expect after the meeting, he'll say something like this.
Btw- I disagree with recruiting. Monte isn't bringing in top shelf talent like the top programs in the sec are bringing in. It'll get us a host region but we'll be hard pressed getting to a Super regional.
“We just strike out too much,” Kingston said. “In this day and age, it’s going on at all levels of the game. Obviously in the big leagues it’s an epidemic. And it’s filtering down into college and high school baseball. Pitching has gotten to a point where it’s more challenging than it’s ever been, so hitters need to continue to adjust along with the pitchers.
“Guys need to find ways to just put the ball in play more — that’s the bottom line. We hit for enough power. But you’ve got to be able to put the ball in play at a much more consistent level than we did this year. And that’s something that has to get better.”

As with Teo, look at how Beer regressed under Monte. And let’s see how hitters like Brewer, Urban, and Grice perform next season. Each player has different strengths and weaknesses, but they’re not coached/taught to enhance and develop those strengths. You’re right about pitching. It’s how you win these days in baseball. And the Tigers are easy outs with the way they’re taught to hit. And then this was supposed to be our best pitching to date under Monte this year? That’s another story…. Way too much overthinking with this game. Put the ball in play, be productive, advance runners, simple as that.
