Serious question... at full strength are ND even close to Clemson ???

Defense is hurt badly and no way on this planet they can score 20 points on our full starting D.
Offensively DJ is really good but he isn’t a threat running and gets antsy when he needs to take off. TL is soooo good at seeing those lanes and getting chunk yards when play isn’t there, DJ can’t do that yet but will one day. Offense easily hangs 40-50 on ND full strength.
Surely the analyst and pundits know this. Clemson is superior in every way and with mostly 2nd team/3rd team players almost won this game.... should have won this game ????

A good offensive and defensive line will always make you competitive. They have a very solid team. We'll have to play well to beat them, even at full strength.

Missing nearly half starting team we almost beat them, SHOULD have beat them

You think they are close ?? Everyone can look good playing the 2nd team, but first team Dline shuts ND down. I just hope we get to play that game. I pray we do and prayers are strong!!!

No. ND is Miami with a better QB.

Yes---maybe better. Offensive line much better and defense totally throttled the run. Our only option is to pass, pass, pass but they blew past the OL on the last series.

All healthy....I believe Clemson wins. But ND is a great team.

Here is my question....will Brent have a better scheme to contain Book if we play them again?
If players are healthy....can they contain Book? I think they will.

You can’t scheme lost talent. Players were in position most of the night but Book made linebackers look like crap. That was upsetting, seeing him run and crush any defensive momentum ?????

But I am betting many players will be healthy by the ACCCG.....and considering Brent's mad genius, advantage Clemson.

Truth spoken. Considering almost all 2nd team for Clemson ALMOST beat a #4 team with a full roster, that’s not a good reflection for ND.
IMO Clemson will not be concerned with them if we play again. Clemson has superior talent and if Tigers at full strength I see NO WAY they can even stay competitive. They just aren’t very good and were extremely fortunate Tigers were missing SOOOO much on both sides of the ball. Otherwise, crush ND and it’s not a good game late ????? It’s my opinion but that is based on watching a football game last night

Not concerned with them? You do realize that ND had starters out as well. Like their wide receivers. When you hold the 'all time ACC back" to 1 yard a carry that's the problem. Not the D line, not the QB. ND won in the trenches especially against Clemson's O line.

Wide receivers are not 2 middle linebackers, 2 starting defensive lineman, starting QB, starting receiver... add to that losing Zanders at safety, Nolan Turner at safety. And STILL AMOST WON.
Don’t compare the injuries for the teams, that’s weird to bring up a receiver. Wow, Clemson was too but also 6 or 7 other starters.
Pretty big deal I hope you at least agree with that ?????

Our inability to get to Book and then contain him were absolute killers. I think we may have had one sack, should have had three or four other coverage sacks where we let him escape. Regardless of who we put out on the field, with their O-line and D-line, they are going to be competitive. I do not think they beat us on a neutral field with all of our starters, but they will make a game out of it.

They were down there two best wide receivers. I wish both teams would have been at full strength. But, injuries are part of the game.

2 receivers out ?????
1 receiver 2 starting dlineman 2 starting linebackers 1 All American QB lost 3 starters during game also.
Yes trenches are where game is won and DJ played well. BUT TL is on another level and experience in big games and his legs are major difference maker, if needed. Getting Tyler Davis and Justin Foster back are MASSIVE, just as big are Jones and Skalski
Prayers for another shot at those Domeheads, crush their soul and I mean no mercy. Orange crush

Is one of the very best in the country...and ours is average at best. We have glaring weaknesses in OL and MLB...especially depth and technique. Those things don’t fix themselves overnight.

I think our upside after last night is far greater than it was.
So is ND's, but not nearly so much.
We were missing numerous key players, including some of our most physical, and we played a lot of puppies--very talented and athletic, but not as disciplined or as aware, and even some of our veterans made uncharacteristic mental errors.
This experience will do us good, so long as no one us out for the season.
My only concern in all this is that the turmoil of scheduling this season may leave numerous undefeated teams; ESPN continously suggests that the CFP might eschew Power 5 champs in favor of hot-looking G5 teams or unbeaten indies.
The CFP has not demonstrated that proclivity heretofore, so we gotta keep trusting them.
I am a fan of the Libertys and BYUs of the world, but not at the expense of proven P5 champs in the CFP.

You cite one statistic and congratulate yourself for your superior knowledge of the game.
Earn some points, rookie, before you deride other people's comments as indicative of their knowledge or fandom.
You may one day prove to be as brilliant and committed as anyone here, but don't diss your Tiger brother.

They will play us tough because their offensive line can block. We have issues at DB and that is not all caused by injuries. If we do not get pressure on their QB then we are in trouble. Like I said last night this team has a strange vibe about it and maybe losing will wake them and the coaches up. We have only played well in two games WF and Miami.

Georgia Tech was pretty good 73-7
But you are right, we’ve made lots of mistakes and ETN back to back weeks handing the other team a easy TD. Those mistakes can’t happen, they are completely unnecessary considering ETN knows better. Otherwise this team needs to get healthy for and hopefully another playoff run

Their OL is way better than ours so I would say they could play is well. We would have contained Ian Book much better with Davis, Skalski, and Jones starting. Also having our Safties out on the last drive certainly hurt. They are a good team thought but if both teams are full strength I believe we hold their O to 13 or so and our O will score. The running lanes are not there much would open a little more with TL at QB.

Well we spotted them 7 points on a dropped option play. And they had 1 Homerun in that first touchdown. Outside of that they had to earn everything they got. They went along time in the second half without scoring. I think at full strength we win by 10. Maybe more.

Their guys up front on both sides are monsters. That will keep them in the game with anyone. Their TE and receiver play was also impressive. ND can play, but if we are healthy we win by 2-3 TDs.
