Tom Hagan, not the godfather, that had the head of the horse chopped off and put in the producers bed.
Tom Hagan absolutely could be just as brutal as the rest of them! Despite being seen as they highly intelligent coolheaded character that he was.

Well said as usual David

The 7-3 record and the quality of wins have definitely been offset by the expectations of tip-top recruiting classes, the top facilities in the country, the highest paid coaches in the country, and the mediocre quality of competition. All that said, off seasons happen. But how do you bounce back? Cade Klubnik will be arriving as hoped-for savior with no competition if he learns the playbook quickly.
BTW, props to Dabo for his support of Mr. Duvall's charitable efforts. And Mr. Duvall for his interest in Clemson. Two men at the pinnacle of their professions!

It's funny how if you are famous, or know somebody famous and go places with them, you can walk around and see everything up close and meet all the people. I went to Clemson with a retired famous coach and we met Dabo and Trevor Lawrence and anyone else that was around.
Robert Duvall is one of the greatest actors and Gus was my favorite character. Thanks to Gus, I would come home and ask the wife if we had time for a poke.

One of my all-time favorite actors and three truly iconic characters
Nov 20, 2021, 9:37 AM
|
|
Tom Hagen Santini Colonel Kilgore
This is how a great actor can take a tiny part and create one of the most iconic moments & characters in movie history despite it being in an all time great movie that is nearly 3 hours long. But part of what makes Apocalypse Now one of the all-time great movies is the way Duval just totally owns and crafts the character of Kilgore!

Started Re-reading The series of Lonesome Dove (Comanche Moon) Wednesday. Hard to visualize anyone but him playing Gus - always pining over Clara and “fussing” with Woodrow.

I’m cautiously enjoying that there appears to be one Hollyweird actor that isn’t a leftist idiot. Always enjoyed his work.

There are actually quite a few conservatives in Hollywood
Nov 20, 2021, 10:16 AM
|
|
But unfortunately they have to keep a very low profile because to be openly conservative in Hollywood is a career killer with the exception of people like Clint Eastwood and a few others.
A lot of producers, directors, and really the people that make the movies, the blue-collar people in the background, are pretty heavily conservative. But as far as actors and actresses, most of them are nut jobs!

I’ll take your word for it…
Nov 20, 2021, 10:27 AM
|
|
…the only ones I know of besides Eastwood are Dean Cain and Tom Selleck.
The movie industry is the worst it’s ever been. Wokeness nonsense has taken over, so the only movies they can make are about transgender cartoon superheroes. They have lost touch with reality.
I feel sorry for the talented, creative people that could be making great films, but will never get the chance because the topic might offend someone.
It has to change…

What gets me, are people like Matt Damon, daniel craig, angelina jolie. They are highly vocal on their hate for guns. Yet, they make millions off movies glorifying violence. Epitome of hypocrisy? You betcha.

It pleases me that my favorite actor is a Clemson and Dabo fan. So glad he is, and will see us whup Wake Forest today. To me, Robert Duval is a national treasure. I hope he has a great time and really enjoys himself and watches us win convingly.
Great article, thanks David Hood for writing it!
