Ok, That's it ! Big 12 it is !

This article explains it well ... SEC does not want Clemson or FSU because they are already in that market
SEC may want a Virginia School because they are not in that market (I would suggest VaTech)
Now B10 may want FSU and Clemson because they are not in the South ...
Big 12 would take any and all ACC Schools willing
I like B12 now. Exciting "manly" schools who really like sports, especially Football ... basketball ... and many schools closer than those B10 schools overall ... warmer
You all would like tailgating in the Arizone Desert, its pretty (can be).

Markets don’t matter anymore. Markets only mattered for cable set top boxes. Streaming is king now and it has no borders. Only subscriptions and viewers matter. These writers are clueless.
Did the SEC care that Texas fans already got the sec network? No. Did the big 10 care that UCLA fans would get the big 10 network when they added USC? No. Did the big 12 care that Utah fans got their content because of BYU? No. What matters is eye balls and brand now.

Exactly CUatthefinishline. Thamel made the same lame comments in his ESPN article with the "no one is talking about" comments about UVA and entering the VA market for either the SEC or BIG10. UVA has never drawn eyeballs in football. Never. TV execs know this. By his rationale, the ACC owns the NY market with Syracuse. Far from it. Brand and eyeballs drawn is everything no matter where they come from.

You got it. If your marketing specialist is talking about selling television ad time, fire them immediately. They're dinosaurs. Even as an old boomer, I understand that much.

There is a market. Maybe not the same as this discussion but with pro sports everything is market driven. Black-outs?? I do have Sunday Ticket just to avoid watching the team that is in my market.

That has nothing to do with markets and everything to do with the NFL coming up with more revenue streams to screw anybody that watches it.

No, markets still matter. The games are still broadcast on networks. The streaming content you get can still be dependent on your registered location.
For example, even in you stream a game on the ESPN app, it will ask for your service provider. Even if you have a streaming service, some of those still give you a feed based on your registered location.
And of course, the payouts for the conference networks are still based on markets (as are the TV contracts as well.

Sure. And if your service provider is a streaming company you either get the channel or don’t. It has nothing to do with where you live. If you subscribe to YouTube tv you get the SECN whether you’re in South Carolina or Antarctica.

What exactly makes the big 12 “manly”?
Mike Gundy? He’s a man and he’s (over) 40!!

Look at where most of these schools are located ... real 'merica. Cowboys and Indians, cattle, oil, Mountains, Jeremiah Johnson and all that ... full of menly men doing manly things in the prime of their manhood ... unlike some schools, bubble cities, dudes in dresses, half the student body looks like that guy ? in that new Ray-Ban commercial

Just say Clemson, FSU, and a bunch of other ACC teams all join the BIG12 what can the BIG12 get $$$$ wise compared to the SEC or BIG10?

Stop listening, Watching and reading stuff from the Little 12 conference of desperado's and leftovers. They have been nonstop about the PAC and ACC imploding because they are butt hurt that 8 programs have left them in their tiny little history since only the 1990's and being excluded in the original alliance with the BIG, ACC and PAC. They hate the ACC and PAC for leaving them out to rot away when their hate should be focused on the SEC and B1G for taking their teams.

Tier 1 media rights deals are not driven by markets anymore. (The ACC proved that by messing around with Syracuse, Pitt and BC - right???)
It’s driven by national viewership and marquee matchups
It’s about getting as many consistently good teams together in a conference and creating as many good matchups as possible each Saturday.
ESPN makes a killing on 6 SEC teams within 5 hours of each other
