Maybe look at a different angle on the ACC/Conf exp issue

If all of the ACC teams are locked in to the league by the GOR until the 2030s or so, is there anyone the ACC could look to in order to expand it's influence and revenue (other than Notre Dame)? All the talk I've heard is about schools leaving the ACC, but are there any viable/realistic options, other than ND, out there for schools coming IN to the ACC? Maybe the discussion has been had and I missed it, but curious if there are any teams out there that would be beneficial and a plausible option for ACC expansion.

The discussion has been had and there are no available schools other than ND that move the needle.

..and even adding ND doesn't solve the long-term issue. ACC needs more and its just not available

Need to look outside the box.
Carolina Panthers, that team that used to be the Redskins and the Jets.
Thinking those 3 so we'd still be favored to win the conference.

So expansion is about football powers and major brand names. So which schools east of the Mississippi fit this description?

Which schools would you suggest the ACC consider adding?

Oregon, Washington, Baylor, Oklahoma State, Texas Tech?

I would look to add: Cinci, Ok St, West Virginia, TCU, Utah, Texas Tech or Baylor. That would get the ACC to a 20 team conference. And I think would pull more revenue

Even if there were schools out there to fit the bill no one is going to be willing to sign over their media rights until 2036 with any conference not named the SEC or B1G and especially not the ACC with the current smoke.
The GOR that locked everyone in and saved the conference from poaching is the same GOR that locks everyone else out and ensures it’s own destruction.

The sec will probably just kick out the cellar dwellers such as the coots and replace them with more respectable programs.
For instance if they kick out the coots and vandy, they could add Clemson and preserve the SC TV and add unc to expand the NC TV presence.
Not sure others are thinking this but if it is all about money, it could happen.

Maybe West Virginia. Maybe

They would be better by far than most of the teams in the ACC, but not good enough to save the conference. We would need a Penn State or Georgia. Those schools aren't budging. And adding a small school does absolutely nothing. Might even hurt.

Start by putting all the football-primary schools together in one division and paying us double for taking one for the league by doing so.
Clemson Miami FSU Va Tech NC State Louisville Pitt
The rest.
Going from 12 marketable games each season to 30 would raise league media revenue, which the football division would keep for itself. Limit ND games to 4 versus top division and 1 against the other for extra value.

Washington and Oregon are the only decent options and they don't help much.
