Lots of talk about recruiting without a lot of data

Dec 22, 2022, 12:12 AM

So I thought I might throw some facts down this rabbit hole

Yes recruiting is very important and matters greatly, but it only explains 36% of a teams success (or failure)

For historical perspective, the 2016 national champion Clemson Tigers we’re playing with a team that ranked 9th in nationally in composite recruiting rankings.

So if you think that having a class that ranks 11th in the nation means the sky is falling, this might help you take step back from the ledge.

Yep. It’s called filling holes. Recruiting is about filling needs. Stars are great but getting someone who fits your culture and your need is a 5 star in my book.
