I've seen a lot of griping here about IPTAY.

For very valid reasons, I might add. How do you propose that IPTAY do things differently, especially in light of the pandemic and the challenges that come with it?

Communication.....plain and simple. Granted, there are alot of scenarios, but this could have been rolled out much more efficiently. Getting emails every other day updating new info when you have only five days to decide (well, not really now after yesterday's emails) isn't ideal. I don't think IPTAY is trying to screw anyone, but the roll-out could've been vetted more. JMHO

Honestly i think IPTAY is handling this about as well as could be expected. Many of the answers they just dont know right now.
I like the idea of redshirting without penalty for those who are concerned about being in the stadium.
I like the bonus points to thank you for your donation when you did not get something tangible in return.
Maybe the bonus points could have been on a scale so the $60 donor would get less than $25000 donor.
However how many times to people say iptay only cares about the high rollers? Now they are giving the little guy some help.
I think its all good.

I think it's very generous of them to allow "redshirts" this year.

I really don't think they had any choice. You can't charge people for something and not deliver whether it is your choice or not. However, I am not complaining about the way they handled it as there are too many unknowns. Some communication could have been better. I'm not sure the point distribution is quite equitable, but probably nothing that had done would suit everyone.

I agree that a ticket refund has to be offered.

But I don’t think that the IPTAY donation has to be. Although a lot of people simply view it as a cost of buying football tickets, it technically has nothing to do with it from a charitable perspective.

I have to disagree. Your donation is directly tied to your tickets, as without the donation you are not getting tickets. If the IPTAY donation was charitable then I think it would be tax deductible, which from what I understand, it isn't. It might be this year if you don't get tickets and leave it with IPTAY.

This will come as a tremendous shock to some of you but, this is something that has NEVER happened before and an all answer system just wasn’t in place. Clemson is trying to work it’s way through all this calamity and it will. Hopefully to your complete satisfaction.
National championships begin with IPTAY. Come aboard and be a part of it

Membership and surveying the opinions could have helped. Better communication even if partial would have helped, they very easily could have avoided the absolute buffoonery of this 100 point bonus that absolutely wrecks the economic IPTAY PP System. Even an Econ 101 kid would know the foolishness of their central bank antics.
A scaled system keeping everyone relative to each other IF they give would have been a far better option. No offense intended to charitable organizations generally, but I have not met a lot of best in class business people in charity work.

Agreed, understand the difficulties with all this and I dont have an issue with the bonus points concept other than I also think it would have made more sense to tier it to the donor level, i.e. more points to the donors who leave more $$$ in the program. That's how the system is set up anyway, i.e. the more you give, the more you get - it's the "MERICAN WAY"!!!!!

The extra points given to someone for not redshirting this year, while a nice idea on paper, is going to potentially screw up the priority point system as you stated.

Iptay has gotten too big for its britches in my opinion. Forgotten about the ordinary fan/member/alumnus. Has forgotten the simple roots from whence it came.

I think many people are throwing thoughts around

without fully understanding what IPTAY has offered.
After reading posts on here for three days it dawned on me that people are getting their information from Tigernet instead of IPTAY.
The 100 bonus points is only part of the plan IPTAY has published. The second part of the plan is to award points for each season ticket that is "donated" back and then cash value priority points are given based on the value of the tickets.
Not only do you get 100 points, you get 5 points for each season ticket donated as well as points for the value. Those of you saying you only get 100 points for leaving your donation in tact and then donating your tickets are just wrong.
I purchase 4 season tickets. If I donated everything back this season I would get:
Bonus points for leaving IPTAY donation = 100 points Donate 4 season tickets = 20 points (5 points per season ticket) $1720 ticket price of 4 tickets @ 100% cash value priority points = 6.9
Total points for 2020 = 126.9
Don't take my word for it...

I’ve been an IPTAY rep for many years and take great pride in being a part of that “charity”. I PTAY Was formed through the association of textile people and the farm families that flourished in the state with Clemson A &M. The organization is proud of every member who supports the athletes of the university. Many who complain know very little about the organization and its structure.
Championships begin with scholarships. If you are doing your part,at any level, I salute you.

Information initially came out somewhat vague. Agree "redshirting" is generous but expected. The point about waiting later and still being given option of "redshirting" was not communicated initially.

Probably not a lot they can do about this but I live 4.5 hours away. My son is a sophomore at CU and I have season tickets. What I see happening is me not choosing to redshirt and then CU announcing that there will be no on campus students this fall. If I knew now that they were not going to be on campus, I definitely redshirt.

The more success we’ve had in Tigertown the more arrogant Iptay and the Athletic Department and really the University has gotten.
While I love the success, the attitudes of them towards, “their customers” has been at times quite poor.
Maybe I missed this, but now that times are tough, has anyone in administration, athletics or Iptay taken a pay cut?
Have there been any furloughs? Layoffs? Belt tightening?
Again, maybe I’ve missed all of these things.
Would love to hear what they’ve done to cut expenses.

So no one can tell me what CU has done to cut expenses.
So it’s, donate your hard earned money and we do nothing to cut our expenses.
Not a great way to run a business in my opinion, unless you all fall for this ploy.

And many years ago, they wrecked the idea of rewarding loyalty. There is no turning back now.
My parents who generously donated and sat in the rain in an almost half-empty stadium during the Hatfield and West years...can be instantly surpassed by some d-bag who decides Clemson football is cool now, and writes a big enough check.
I understand their job is to maximize the bottom line. I get it. But it still seems so wrong.

Maybe something like triple priority points or even quadruple. 100 regardless of donor level is just odd. It benefits me because I am not a big donor, but its just not right.

Everyone is reading this wrong. The points are going to affect your strength in the level you give only. They dont put you against anyone as far as tickets or parking in the level you are not giving. Its a pretty good deal keeps you on top of the level you are competing against.

It pains me to say it, but our in state rivals seem to have a great plan. Four options, including leave it all in, roll some over to 2021, roll it all over or refund. If you leave it in its 4X your giving points so it’s tiered to reward the level of donation.
Also and perhaps most importantly if you donate your pledge it’s tax deductible. Shame Clemson didn’t take that approach.

Great example. I wish IPTAY would copy this type of scheme where those that donate more money benefit from more bonus points. Not only is it more fair, but it would help IPTAY retain the middle and higher level donors for 2020.
